BAAA, HAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAA!!! 6 months indeed.

But it will be worth the wait.

:D

I'm not too worried about the wait (that's what I keep telling myself), but hopefully I can get it out of site, out of mind and not be the kid in the back seat screaming, "are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet?"

Maybe someone would like to loan me their Skjold until mine arrives, that is if they have an extra one around. That is the level of support we can expect as a bonafide Skjold Member right?

:hiding:

I offer for your approval into the club-- bass #23 for member #23:

And of course you know this one:

Yes indeed. You're SCM #23. :)

Man, I remember that one too... the famous Adrian Skjold... how's that one workin' out for you? :)

Alright!!

The Custom 5 is an absoulute dream. Top notch construction. Tight focused b string. The tone reminds me a little bit of the 60's Jazz bass sound, but with it's own modern-ish nuances. I love the pickups. They are some of the most natural, clear pickups that I've heard. That's a great word for this bass -- Clarity. It has a nice growl and the electronics are extremely versatile. It was a bit overwhelming at first, but now that I found my favorite settings, I can just tweak the EQ for the room.

Having to wait until November, I am really starting to jones pretty bad here. Can you guys offer some sound clips? Pic? Full recordings featuring your Skjold? I'm crawling the walls here.
There's a thread over on the Skjold Players' Forum for soundclips that has four or five on it. Also, here is the thread where I posted the clip of my Pro 6 a while back. Enjoy.

Here's page 7 of my original thread on my first new Skjold... post 130 is my review, and post 132 is a few terrible clips of me, but I think they at least do a decent job of representing the tone. Recorded absolutely dry, actually directly wired from the bass into the generic sound card in my system.

I have to warn you tho... listening to the clips probably won't make you feel "better"... :D

Well, I don't really do clubs, buy hey I guess that is what it feels like:)

I have just got off the phone to Pete (man I am glad I don't have his phone bill, nearly an hour call to the UK:eek: ) to finalise the details for my upcoming LP P.

I am really psyched about this bass and Pete has really got a handle on his business. All the components of the bass have been really thought out and I feel totally confident that my bass is going to be exactly what I have been looking for.

Having sat on the fence for the past twelve months I am happy to have made this decision.

Am I in now;)

You are as much as you wanna' be. If you want a number, just say so, otherwise, you're of course always welcome here. :)

+1, having been dealing with Pete for years now, and I still feel the same... maybe even more so.

Get used to this feeling. :)

Thanks VIC - do I get a badge or certificate:D

#24 it is.
You get a hearty handshake and a firm pat on the back, but you gotta' pay the plane fare. You decide. ;) :D

However, not to be too much of a nerd, but I'm such a Skjold enthusiast, I might consider putting something together and mailing them out if folks wouldn't think that'd be just too stupid. Don't get me wrong, it'd be no big deal, just for fun.

:D - Man I love stickers - do it!

Okay Vic,
I went over to Pete's place today and guess whose bass was there.............:smug:

Pete did a collasal job of repairing your fingerboard! If you didn't know it was there, you would never know it was a "patch job." And the bass just plays awesome! You have quite the growling beast there!

The only thing is, Pete would not share with me what he used to patch in your fingerboard. I figured out that it's a hybrid mixture of things including shop dust off the floor and Pete's boogers.
