So, Pete mentioned my latest plan, eh? :D Don't spoil the surprise just yet, will ya? I have to rub it in to Henry that I will also have the very first $#@#@$)*$#% that Pete has ever done.

Nice! Can you elaborate? Or is it yet again a super secret project? Man, Pete seems to have a lot of those irons in the fire. :p

Yeah, I can't believe you are going to have a handle built into your bass...er...uh...
Don't worry, your secret is safe with me.

Mine is going to be simple and classy. An upgraded Stage series basically.

Specs:
Offset 92 Sapele Mahogany Body, no top because the grain on this Mahogany is outstanding.
Morado fretboad that has some excellent striping.
C4 pickup that will match the fretboard.
Pete's nice bridge.
Active Pre that is essentially just a volume, position selector, and Mid-range control. I am not sure what it is technically called.
And chrome hardware :hiding:

Seems like matching the fingerboard is a pretty popular thought... I may have to reconsider this and run this past Pete for his opinion since he still has everything there. My only real "objection" to that is I already have a bass that will have almost those same exact covers/knobs.

I do like the black on brown look, tho. I think it's classy, which is why the black ebony thing sounds good to me... yeah, it's paying money for pretty much the same look, but I just really like the wood details on the higher end basses.

I still think matching the top on the pickups would look cool, but I'll have Pete call me sometime when he's between tasks and we'll mull some of these over with him looking at wood options directly.

Sorry Juneau, I respect you bud, but bloodwood on this bass just ain't gonna' happen. :)

Dude, I have strongly considered this exact setup, except with an ebony board. In fact, I talked to Pete about this possibility earlier this week. But no, that's not what littlehorse is talking about. :D

My compliments on your taste!

Don't forget the tach and the gear shifter... oops... sorry Tom... ;)

Wow, things aren't really panning out how I thought they would. In fact, I have already written the opening sentence:

"Normally, I am a big fan of Pete Skjold's work, but unfortunately, he appears to have been soused on 18-year old Scotch when he created this hideous monstrosity."

And the closing sentence:

"In short, for the same money, I'd rather pick up a Wish Bass and a Yugo to transport it."
