I can't tell you how hard it is to find a pre-2000/ovangkol NT Thumb (or SSII or Dolphin) right now......(that's not WAY overpriced)

yeah i didn't consider the other models, but i'm pretty sure the thumb was a little earlier than the ss2.
hey guys, i'm in the market for a Corvette $$ that looks... well... just as sexy as this one. musiciansfriend only has the burgundy colored one, and i want the 5 string. the blue is such a great color, love it love it love it.
I just got the 5 string $$ in that color from Amazon (of all places). I almost hated to buy a bass from Amazon, but it worked out well. The bass is fantastic, and I got it in two days.
To aid you in your search: That color is Turquoise. Ocean Blue is nice as well, but is a much deeper blue.

I was getting ready to buy a Fender Precision when I saw this beauty http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/fs-warwick-thumb-bolt-2001-limited-edition-795602/ and my fate was sealed. It should arrive this week.
I've gotten into using TI flats on my Jazz bass and want to try them on this bass. Wondering if anybody else has used flats on their Thumb? And will I need to do anything to the set up when I install them? Thanks in advance. I look forward to exploring the different tones this bass puts out.

I saw a Warwick Vampyre on Ebay for $300 and what I'm trying to find out is most have the W on the headstock but this one has no W and a Warwick truss rod plate.Does anyone have any info on this.Thanks in advance.
It's a Rockbass. One piece bridge is dead giveaway. I don't think they made a regular Warwick Vampyre with a maple neck either, and not sure about bolt-on either, but could be wrong on those counts. Plus, he said made it Korea. The lack of W on the headstock is a little suspect though.
The older Rockbasses have Warwick on the truss cover and say Rockbass on the headstock. They also have the one piece bridge. 2009 or 10 and later Rockbasses have a W on the headstock and the traditional Warwick two piece bridge. Also as far as I know the only Warwicks made in Korea are the Pro series Corvette, Thumb Bo, and Streamer LX and the few signature series (ie: P-nut, Stuart Zender, T.M. Stevens, and Bootsy). I just checked the website which says they are also making a Pro series Star bass now.
There is/was a Rockbass Vampyre being made. Rockbasses are made in China.
So I have an offer from an overseas gentleman that is interested in trading a *correction* '92 Thumb NT for my '06 Dirty Blonde LTD. Aside from whether or not you'd accept the offer... how does everyone feel about international trades? Are there any sure fire ways to protect the integrity of the transaction/deal?
He has a feedback rating of +1 from this forum and I haven't asked yet about the Warwick forum... anybody have an idea of international shipping rates to Minsk, Belarus?
