A little. The G series were graphite necked basses. The Grind is a run of the mill import.

See if you can find a M92 or Sweetspot for about half the price. And if you want to you can add a second pickup for flexibility.

Peavey basses that are US made are very good basses. I played a fury over a summer and it was a great P bass.

Used to have that Q5. Sold it. Now I have five Peavey GV basses. They can generally be had for 1/4-1/3 of what I sold that Q5 for. They are every bit as good a bass.

You didn't state in your OP, but I'm getting the sense that you want something right now?

The GV's pop up in the classifieds every now and then - the last one being in January. Much like the growing consensus here, I believe they're the best alternative, but it will require some patience.

I played one and was impressed. I'm just not a 35" scale person.

I have two moduli 5 and Genesis five, and last year I rocked a $60 peavey foundation with super ferrtires for every gig. Sounded great, but back to Genesis for this summer's tour. My buddy worked for Paevey in the 80's and said Hartley was a great and unusually guy.

Since you've only been a member since Feb, we'll cut you some slack. Peavey USA basses are some of the most underrated basses in existence. I like it that way, makes them cheap to buy .

The GV is a 5 string with 2 pickups. The G bass is a 4 with only one pickup. Not sure why they only did 1 pickup with the 4.
