My late grandfather once came upon a cache of razor blades in ww2 when he and my grandmother lived with ration booklets. He once had a fair offer to sell them but decided he was going to hold onto them a bit longer to maximize his profit. When prices rose, he finally decided to sell them and when he pulled them from under the bed, they had rusted over.
