Meanwhile, behind the scenes, I was negotiating with GaryLC, who was looking to swap the aforementioned Lil White Fish for an SB-2. All parties agreed, and will end up getting what they wanted! (especially ME!!!)

Chef: What strings do you have on your PJ? I'm really on the fence about rounds vs. flats.

I'm debating which configuration to put my new Reverend in, and I'm leaning toward keeping it as a PJ (despite my love for passive single coil basses) and maybe stringing it with TI flats. I love the way my 5L sounds with the TI flats, and there's just something about a P with flats -- it's just a classic combination. My Dark Star P has flats, but it's a totally different beast from a Reverend PJ. Also, I'm not sure how much more play the truss rod has in it (I'm being super careful), and with lower tension flats it might not need any adjustment at all.

I'm still hanging on to my 5L for a little while at least, BTW. I played around with it last night and it just has TONE. I always focus on the neck and playability, but it ain't lacking in the tone department, either.

So I guess I'm up to eight basses, at least for now.
