Chef: What strings do you have on your PJ? I'm really on the fence about rounds vs. flats.

For What it's worth, I also have a PJ, so I'll chime in as well. I use D'addario Nickel rounds on mine and it sounds wonderful. That bass has a very responsive tone knob, so If I need to take out bite/zing I can roll off the tone and it sounds smooooooth.

Man do I love that bass.

Pictures do it no justice. It looks like gold.

Hmmmm. Has anyone wired a PJ like an XL? That would HAVE to deliver Cajones' Grande'!!!!

so i played my new 5L for the first time and i was pretty blown away by the tone. Definitely nice and mellow. It's a great compliment to my spector...totally different sound. The B string is amazing...nice a warm, not overly aggressive like most B strings.

anyone ever tried chromes on a 5L?

Cool, it made it there in one Piece!:hyper:
I think you're gonna be even more Blown Away when you play that Baby LIVE for the 1st time! That is where Reverends SHINE, IMO.

I've put Chromies on my Peavey TL-5. BRIGHT!!! I almost put them on the bass you have now. It's got EB's with a 130 B...I figured Chromies would be too bright for my tastes...Anyone else?

Glad you're enjoying the Fish,
Tony

Temporary thread hijack.......My band, The Polka Floyd, has a road trip this weekend! We'll be bringing our show, and many Reverends...sadly, only one bass, to the Minneapolis, and Moorhead area. Shaw's bar and grill in Minn, on Thursday, and The Broken Axe in Moorhead on Fri and Sat. Anybody here from those areas, I'd love to meet you!

Back to the regularly scheduled topic now......

continue continuation......Thanks Matt....We'll be back in Detroit at the Hard Rock on thursday the 29th. We're hoping our cd we'll be ready by then for a cd release party ....

Detroit? Most Cool! I'll have to come check you out! :bassist:

BTW, The Fury (my band) is having a CD Release party at the Old MiaMi this Saturday night. (It's also the Long Awaited Re-Union of Nuke & The Living Dead!!) So, if anyone is BRAVE enough to venture into Cass Corridor, I'd love to meet you. And I'll have 2 Reverend Basses!:smug:

I guess that's close to reasonable; seems to be what the market demands these days.
I personally think it's $100 high, but I've been saying that for at least a year now.

Anyone here get it?
