so i mentioned early that my buddies endorsed by Reverend, well he got his guitar today from the owner (who flew out to deliver it, really class act) and my buddy said REVEREND IS GOING TO MAKE BASSES AGAIN. Yep. The dude said they are going to be different than the ones they used to make, and they'll be Korean Made, but they'll be using different woods and a body design as well.

That's all he could tell me, no date was given for when, but the owner said they are going to make them again.

Thoughts?

 :) :) :) :) :hyper: :bassist: :D

That's great news!! I'm thinking that if Mr. Naylor and the folks at Reverend heard me play they might pay me NOT to play :D I'll do anything for a free bass :hyper:

Club King!

Club King!

Club King!

OTOH, I've heard people say that Joe had said he had no plans to make any basses, so I'm really hopeful that he's changing his mind on that.

exactly, which is why i mentioned what i did. i mean, if the owner is saying that, to me that carries a lot of weight. and, since he did not mention a date (which im having my buddy ask him) i'm guessing its not in the immediate future.

Joe has been asked directly in the Rev forum and has not affirmed any rumors of new basses. That's all I know for sure about that.
If they make new basses, and they're not on the patterns of the old basses. I dunno....

I still want a Club King HB with P90 pups!

To the guy who asked if the 5L is a better Jazz bass than a 5502: hell yes.

Not to derail the Reverend talk but have any of you guys played a Yamaha SBV?? There's one for sale down below right now. IMHO, they are the closest thing to a Rumblefish 4 that I've ever played. Very light, similar neck, odd body shape and HOT pickups. I regret selling the one I had, I'd like to find an older one on the Japanese websites. Cool basses.
Indeed, they are very cool. TBer bassmonkeee had one a while back and was going to let me have it for a stupid low price, but I would have caught hell from the boss. It was an amazing bass and very Rumblefish-esque.

Yep, as far as I know the latest bit of info was Joe saying on Rev forums that they had "no plans" currently to introduce an import bass line.

Club king bass, though. DEMAND! Surely if I type the word "DEMAND!" in all caps enough times, Joe and the Rev folks will listen.

Cool,I'm leaning toward a trade, the fish sounds more like my style than the 5502.

I was all set to get a Lakland when I stumbled across a 5L on bassgear.com. I talked to Ryan at Low Down Sound, who I knew had a Rev and from what I got from him, it was the bass for me. I bought it sight unseen, loved it, then Ryan decided to sell his PJ and the rest is history.

The 5L with flats is great for blues, or rounds for more snarl.

Greetings from the North,

If Joe can teach those good people across the water how to make a neck with the feel of the Fish and.....if a semi hollow is in the works I'll bite. I sure do wish he would have continued the Fish line over there though.
