No, there aren't, yet, but there should be, for this application.

Or at least exposed pole piece pups with vintage/aged white covers that look like P90's.

The big proprietary Bart 'buckers in the Lakland Skyline HB's would be a good sonic starting point. And the TV Jones pups.

Why not P-90's?
Big, hot grindy pups!
And I like the look, especially with the gold top.
It evokes all kinda retro goodness.
Go to the Rev site, look at a gold topped Club King geetar.
All they needa do is make it with four big ole strings;)


I already have D/S'd basses.

I'd be mighty interested to try a Club King P-90 equipped bass, too. Interested enough to probably order one without ever trying it first. However, I'd definitely go for one with Dark Stars.

I have one, too, but it's not a Reverend, and while I haven't heard what a P-90 bass might sound like, I know what a Dark Star can do already, and I like it.

Either way, I'd be pretty excited. :)

Yep. The dude said they are going to be different than the ones they used to make, and they'll be Korean Made, and they'll be using different woods and a different body design as well.

That's all he could tell me, no date was given for when, but the owner said they are going to make them again.

I can't wait to see the new designs. Anyone wanna venture a guess as to a time frame? It sounds like there won't be a remake of the BH5 :(

well, ya got me there - I like P90's too. In an SG or an LP or a Switchmaster. and yeah, I'm real curious about the Reverend Guitar's with P90's. I dig the squawk! not sure how that would traslate to bass though. Get back to me on that wouldja ?

Well, something tells me that for this venture with Korean import basses, Joe's not going to have new pickups designed. ;)

You won't be sorry, I got a Rocco a while back from Reverend. It was their offical "Amp testing guitar" blue aluminum top w/racing stripe just like the bass that was on here a while back. Anyway, great guitar, plays super easy and sounds killer. I had a deposit down on one of the new imports but whenI saw te Rocco I called and had them send it instead, I wanted something to match my 2 fish!

That color combo sounds gorgeous. Rocco's only come around every once in a while. I'm actually looking for something similar, but they call it the Jetstream now. Did you get an Eastpointe neck? I'm looking at a Jetstream HB Hardtail. I wish they made the HB or the Club King HB in different colors. I love the electric blue, but they only make the 390 in it and I already have a Strat. 69 Lime Green or Rock Orange on a Jetstream HB or Club King HB would make my day. :)

I digress from basses, but I get excited about all things Reverend including Goblin and Kingsnake amps. :)

Did they have other older US models as well or did you snag the last one?

I have a feeling that won't last long, if I had the funds I would buy it in a heartbeat, I need to get one of these before the prices go any crazier, my guitarist friend who is a reverend fan tells me 2 years ago most of these would have been in the 400-500 range....

It's serial #100, but there were many more 5-string Reverends produced. Heck, I've got two of 'em. :p :hiding:

All 5-string Revs are 35" scale.

There's also one for sale in the TB classifieds right now that's stock (no major mods) IIRC.

FWIW, I have no idea if they'll keep rising in value, but I doubt that they will go up as quickly as they have in the last two years. I bought my 5L for $650 shipped about a year or so ago.

I think the difference is that Naylor installed an Aguilar preamp and LED, which makes it different than a standard R5L. It also the input on the side like a Houser.

I also hope the prices go down. Even their discontinued US guitars have shot up in value to more than double their original value. I might just have to get an import.

No, no Eastpointe neck unfortunately. The guitar I got was on the "Sale Items" (or whatever it was called) page of their website which is no longer there :((. They had 2 other USA made guitars on there as well. I snapped up the Rocco the second I saw it. It was also cool getting a small piece of Reverend history being that it was their official "Amp testing guitar"

Unless there were more like this, the same bass sold last November for $700. Don't want to call B.S. on his claiming to have had it for 4 years but the descriptions match. I wasn't tracking the serial numbers back then though.

I never realized that these basses we so popular. I remember seeing them when I was in high school but never got a chance to play one. I always thought they looked a little odd but I found myself admiring them whenever I saw one. Bet they sound great.

From what I understand they're no longer made so the only chance you have to get one is to buy a used one. This thread is causing major gas pains.
