Thanks, I've had a saved ebay search for a while keeping my eye on them, but I saw your post before I ever got the email.
You know, I was just looking at the pics on that one and the headstock on my PJ is a bit different. The end is not quite so round.

I think the headstock on the lave 5L might be a lil different.

I see what you're saying about the headstocks. It looks like it might be the angled a bit in the ebay pic to me.

serial numbers by year are in the archives at the reverend site.

Yes, I have a hipshot on my PJ. it's the GB7 I believe. plug and play, though the post is a little short. I can get two and a half wraps on it.
Wow, no one bid on that Lava 5L, I was sure that would be a battle in the last minute for that puppy.
I was pleasantly surprised by that. Might have to get in touch w/the seller. Maybe the IRS will be quick......... I played the purple 5L at practice tonight for the first time in a while. Man that bass just kills! I know...preaching to the choir...I struggle a bit with the 35" scale, but it's worth the effort!

$875 is a completely reasonable price for a lava 5L with case.
I'm trying not to be insane, and buy it, and then flip my psuedo-swirl blackwood....which is actually rarer, but doesn't trip my visual trigger quite the same way.
