I like the controls how they are, I am just talking about the aesthetic of the knob itself. It looks a little shiny and cheap compared to the rest of the bass.
The Gun and the Dub should have fairly distinct sounds even though the split brick and the thick brick are common on both.
While I'm waiting for my Mercalli 5 to arrive, the basses I keep going back to in their catalog are the Dub and the Gun. Love the color on yours, BTW.
And not to steal your Thunder, (pub intended,) but this one came in on Saturday. Loving it so far, but have only been able to play at home so far, next weekend I'll introduce it to the band.
I'd have a Wattplower if I did the short scale thing for sure, partially for the name I admit. But they are also beautiful instruments. Watt's a personal foundational touchstone for me. I was at a nearby brewery last week, enjoyed some good beer along with some live music. The band was ok, but the bassist was subtly phenomenal. He was playing what looked like a Dub King. Sounded great! Never had the pleasure of trying one. As a life-long Fender Precision bass guy, what would I expect from that Revered? Maybe start with its scale, it's 30" versus 34". I play chromes also.
Dude you would LOVE the Thundergun (34" scale). Admittedly I haven't tried it with flats yet (the S.I.T. rounds that come on it sound great!), but I am also a P bass/Chromes guy and it's like the curtain has been pulled back!
Not sure if this has been posted yet here, but a [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] for a nice price in seemingly great condition at a Music-Go-Round. More or less my dream bass including the finish, but I don't have the coin right now so figured I'd pass it along.

Thanks @lermgalieu I saw a few on reverb and that looks like a sweet bass! What color do you own? Does Reverend make any 34" semi-hollow or is there really no difference in th tone between their semi-hollow and solid body??
Nope, haven't made them in long time. The infrastructure to make some of the parts no longer exists. Love my Rumblefish. Nothing quite like them.
It's why I'm quite miffed I don't have the $$ to pull the trigger on this. They don't pop up often, but I wanted to throw it out here in case anyone else has been looking.
Until I grabbed the Dub King a few weeks ago, all of my basses were long scale. Truth be told, I have medium to small size hands and have always felt the long scales are a bit of a stretch in the lower frets. I am finding the Dub King, and now Wattplower short scales super comfortable to play and don't feel as though I am missing out tonally at all. The Dub King can cop that old P bass tone, but it has more power and can do much more than a P. I've got my DK strung up with LaBella flats and it is a joy to play. Its also lighter than most solid bodies at just under 8 lbs. Being a chambered body, it still has the roundness in tone of a semi-hollow/hollow body, but without the feedback issues. Do try to get your hands on one, if only to try out, I think you will find if you do, you will be afflicted with a bad case of GAS. And if you're ever in Western Massachusetts, I'd be glad to let you sample mine.

I don't know the answer to your question. I was just saying that given the P/Chromes comment, we seem to have similar tone aspirations, and the Thundergun may very well be a P killer for me.

I wish I could get my hands on one of the early injection mold reverends. They seem fascinating and probably really light.
