I wish I could get my hands on one of the early injection mold reverends. They seem fascinating and probably really light.
They are indeed an interesting build; I've not seen anything like them. The phenolic finish (Formica!) is quite practical - it doesn't stain or tarnish and cleans up really easily. The injection molded sides do yellow after a while, but they can be cleaned up with a magic eraser.
They do go up for sale from time to time. I just sold a PJ recently (listing was in the classifieds). You should be aware though that their weight varies. I haven't weighed the two I still have, but the PJ feels a bit on the heavy side and the classic Rumblefish (an early example with the Ken Armstrong pickups) on the light side.
