Didn't realize you had one in the Classified. The only ones I'm interested in currently are PJs.

Prices for the ones I saw are indeed high, but when there's limited availability and a small market, the fluctuations are bound to be extreme. As for me, even though I own some vintage gear I buy only for actual use. As for collectors, it's just my opinion, but I think all instrument collectors, even the classic Fender and Gibson folks, are headed toward a reset. The demographics are just going the wrong direction. After all, it's not worth what you paid for it, it's worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.

Very true.

I do have a number of basses and guitars that I consider collectible and they're taken very good care of, but you're reset comment is spot on. Unless you got a heck of a deal when you bought it you aren't gonna make much if any money when you sell it these days.

Some of the Reverends in the eBay sale are tempting from a buy it to rock it standpoint but at nearly $1500 for some of the ones listed you'll be hard pressed to ever get your money back out of it on a resale. These are generally $1000 basses and have been for years and will be for years. Paying 50% over the value of the bass isn't a sound investment. I suppose it could be a sound purchase if it's exactly what you've been looking play, but from a foreseeable resale value standpoint I'd think you'd do real real good to just break even.

If anyone is wondering, the Rumblefish will fit in a new case if you ever need one. Just be warned that there is alot of space between the pocket and the upper horn of the bass. Enough slide that the headstock will bang the inside of the case. I bought one since Reverend said it would fit fine, but that is a poor way to define 'fit'. Hopefully I can find a period correct case.

What does a teardrop case cost that will fit a rumblefish 5L?

Sweet bug eye metallic Reverends!

Those Reverends are being auctioned by Techno Empire in Burbank. They often sell gear that was used by a band or studio on tour, etc. that isn't needed anymore.

I remember Justin Meldal-Jonsen selling lots of his NIN tour gear through them, and I remember having GAS for all of it.

PJ's indeed, I have never tried one, I have a JJ I converted to a PJ, and I have a Mercalli as well. I would like to try a PJ, they have the reinforced neck, and the pickups are hotter, as well, and I understand they are a little bit more aggressive. If I ever see a Sky Blue one with Rosewood neck I am going to pull the trigger on the inflated BIN price.
