Dave, now I see why you like the 410L. Played KJung's Monday night and it was awesome. We did an A/B with my Hartke and Ken's Thunderfunk. Both sounded great, but my Hartke gave me a bit more grind. Guess I may stick with it a while longer after all.

I'm very happy with my 1212L and Ken offered me his 410 if I get some of the bigger gigs we're hoping for this summer.

I wish! I've been trying to WEASEL that fish from him since I met him. It was a Gift from Joey Naylor, and he won't part with it. He has over a Dozen rare, or Custom Reverends, many one of a Kind! The XL is the only bass though...

I did win the Black R5L on Ebay though...That will have to suffice for a Black fish for now...

I used Hartke stuff for about 10 years and really liked it. Their cabs definitely have more grind than the Schroeder. I use a Sansamp RBI to dial in some of that Hartke-esque grind, and it goes well with the Schroeder's massive low end punch.

In my nevernding quest to have the Ampeg tone in a light, correctly priced and convenient package I recently bought a used SVP-CL tube preamp. I am really happy with the unit. Reverend-wise the tone is great. I would say that the Reverend is the bass which had major tone improvment with the Ampeg preamp.

Great bass.

The Sans Amp Programmable is killer, also I just put a set of Rotosound RS77LD's on my JJ and I'm really diggin' 'em. I've used nothing but roundwounds my whole bass playing life and I'm really liking the flatwounds on this bass

I've got a bizarre combination going:

I'm using just about the most modern poweramp/cab around: Bergantino IP310, with one of the most retro-sounding basses: Reverend with TI Flats (which I LOVE!!!), and they're tied together by just about the most obscure tube preamp: the Brunetti.

All in all though, I'm extremely happy with my sound. I should have some "surgery" pics to post here soon from the electronic work I had done on my BH5, which brightened it up nicely (it's strung with rounds right now, though that may soon change).

Dave is right on the money. L2Ks are still being made - you can always find another (and although used G&L prices have been rising they are still a great value). Rumblefish aren't being made any more, prices are rising and they are harder to come by.
