Every time one pops up, it's either gone before I even know about it, or I don't have the cashmoneys. Blows. I want one.

Pics Man!
I'll be getting the following later today.
I traded it for a MM Bongo5 H/P with TBer "Peredur"
My question: what is the difference between these PUs (no polepieces) and the ones with polepieces like BartmanPDX's?
...
I measured the distance from the last fret (21st) to the front line of the each PU. My measurements were taken in millimeters. I tried to convert them into inches....:
21st fret to neck PU: 74mm = 2,913"
21st fret to bridge PU: 164 mm = 6,46
Anybody care to enlighten me about the differences within the different types of PUs (pole pieces vs. non pole pieces)?
Still waitin' on the pics, but long story short, I had all the wiring replaced with super high quality wire, and the tech replaced the pots and caps, too. Basically, he dropped the resistance about as low as it can go, and when everything's dimed, it has a more aggressive bite and more treble response.
The tech is a real pro. You know you're in the right place when he starts describing electrical components as "sexy," and acts like an eight-year-old talking about his model airplane.![]()

He gave me a complete rundown of what he did, which I'll post with the pics when I get them.
curious as well...but you knew that
c'mon mang, bring da info!
The result is that the bass, more than any other bass I've owned, really comes alive in the treble when you run the bridge pickup at full. In some ways, it almost acts like a second tone pot in that as you get towards full volume, it brightens more and more. I would guess that's because the circuit at that point has so little resistance? I'm assuming the "no load tone pot" is 1 meg ohm...
Do you know what the stock bits were for value comparison?
thanks for the info!

So Trev, how did the Reverend sound through that Orange stack at the Bowlus GTG?
The 'Fish rocked Athens, Georgia last night! Big Red, bass #90, saw most of the action for three sets. They just play and sound so great, makes me wonder why I even bother to own any other basses. I've got serious G.A.S. for MaddAnthony's white 5-string!! Now, where'd I put that $1,000?![]()
