It wouldn't hurt to try them but.........the reason why I love the Reverends is IMHO, their sound is at the other end of the spectrum from a Sadowski type Jazz Bass. It might be interesting to see how they sound in the semi hollow body. We want sound clips

I'll see what I can do. Unfortunately I'm gonna loose the cool white colored pickups...

I, personally, wouldn't trade the Rev pups for anything.
I bought extras, and have already used one here:
It's great in this application!
The J pups are things of great sonic beauty.
The BH5 is a little dark for my taste, but I think changing from 250k pots to 1 meg pots will clean that up, if I ever do that.

Fender Precision A/E hollowbody, allparts neck (J width/P depth/oil finish on the back) Reverend 10K ohm P pup (yowza!) Butch Built wiring harness; bridge and tuners I had laying around; 51 P p/g.

I tried 3 or 4 pickup sets in the J'fish I recently sold off. They were all good set's. In the end I re-installed the Rev's and - ya know - they're all nice flavors. The stocker's are just a tad more aggressive than the other pickups I tried (Duncan SJB-1's, SJb-2's, Fender MIA J) - honestly they all sounded good. It was just nuances.
I put some of it down to the construction of the bass itself. The chambered approach just seems to add some 'air' around the notes.
My PJ still has Aero type 1's in it though and those are staying put... that one I don't dare mess with...

I love the stock pups, and see no need to mess with them.
Science is fun and all, but they just sound soooo goooood...

hmm how' do these "earlier Bill Lawrence" pups compare? are these the normal reverend pickups eveyone raves about?
and i've seen that 'fish on the usa ebay--the seller lives near my hometown so i'm going to try to go out tomorrow and play it
Anyone playing their Fishes through a Markbass amp?? I just picked up an LMII. HOLY CRAPOLA!!! My 5L sounds INCREDIBLE through it 
It really brings out the Reverends unique sound better than any other amp I've tried. And the B string.......... Just wanted to share my excitement.
