I'm glad. I still want to snag a 5 at a descent price. I wonder how much we ourselves are driving up the price or perceived value. By reading the posts here in the past month or so it seemed that a number on here were looking to get Revs and now that has settled down are the prices following? :confused:

If that's the case, I say we should lobby our power somehow and control the market price by controlling our demand :D

I might be interested in the Red fish, should you choose to sell. I would like to keep my family size down to seven, and have no idea what would I would sell to squeeze it in, but I have a real hankering for a 4-string 'fish. It's the only bass I have GAS for right now, and I'm glad in a way I haven't had the opportunity to play a Dingwall. Fellow fisherman 4mal was similarly stunned by a mutual friend's Jerzy Drozd. He's never been a coffee-table or high-end bass kind of guy, but sometimes a bass just speaks to you when you least expect it.

I know what you mean about being haunted by a high-end bass. I was fortunate to be able to hold onto both my 'fish in buying my current #1 bass, and count myself lucky as a result. The 'fish still get significant playing time FWIW.

In your case, having the same configuration in multiple colors would seem to be redundant unless each one has a well-defined and specific tone character.

If it were me, I'd probably succumb to the GAS, sell two of my 'fish, and buy the Dingwall, with the sad knowledge that it would be difficult to replace the 'fish. I'm sure the Dingwall would help you get over it, though. :D

I feel your pain. Me, I'd probably go for the Dingwall if it's really speaking to you. Go for the tone in your head/heart.

If I hit the lottery I'd have one in every finish just 'cuz. But realistically I'm looking for a JJ in Engine Turned Aluminum now to complete the "metal finish" set.

I have my ebay search set to "Reverend bass" and it never showed up. It usually takes about 24 hours for the search to show up in my email, and this one went quickly, due to the stupid low price. By the time the search function would have kicked in, it was already gone. I never even saw it.

Seller was a fool to have such a low BIN price, IMO. Could have gotten hundreds more easily.

I never get the ebay pings either, I've tried several ways...
I was gonna say "that's the best deal I've seen since I got my 5L for $425 3 years ago" til I saw it had EMG pups in it.

That ruins it for me, and factory replacements are obviously not available...Never seen that finish; neato...

Uh...yeah me too. For five years. Despite my vigilence, not even a whiff of one. Never seen or heard of one, either. Were any made? I'm beginning to wonder.

But never say never, that's my mantra. That corrigated fiver is a cool surprise, eh? (What a steal!)

I know one thing....if a JJ like that, or an Engine pops up on ebay, we may see a record high set for a Fish. Perish the thought!

Guess I need my number?

This Rumblefish was my second bass. Been through 19 more... I think. And the fish is the only one I could never get rid of.
