Decided to officially report in with my 2011 MID 4003 that I got from the recent MF sale. I was not completely sure that I would keep it. Over the two weeks, I must have changed strings 10 times: rounds flats rounds flats . I am still not completely happy with what strings I want on it, but I have decided to keep the bass. (I know...its time for a 2nd 4003)
I am usually a very light touch player, and I just couldn't get the tone out of the Ric with a light touch. It seem to demand and embrace being played hard. Taking off the pickup cover meant I could play where I can get the most punch as well. So here it is, while I experiment a bit more on string choices.
