The Rickenbacker Club Part Five

QUESTION 1
Looking for suggestions. Babicz or Hipshot Transtone bridge to replace the stock bridge? I don't want the Hipshot Ric bridge, way over priced and is basically nothing new, saddle set up is pretty basic standard. Any other suggestions, (outside a Badass, even though Ged did it). With the Bab and the Trans, I am just wondering if anyone has experience with either, and if the action will still be able to set low (not like the korny guy low though).

Question 2
Recently the bass makes a crunchy-fuzz sound through the neck p'up (like it doesn't have enough power or the speaker is toast - but the amp is fine, that's just the type of sound), clear when switch to solo bridge. Is this the pot or the p'up going?

Thanks man!
I'd clean the contacts of the switch for the neck pup.

Just Bought my first Rickenbacker about 4 hrs ago, until Last week I never seen one in real life. So far it will take a bit of getting used to it. I love the tone.I play every week on our praise and worship team at church and this bass is replacing my Sterling MM. What do I need to get a number here?

Gibson fan, eh?

Yeah, I love the Gibsons, especially that Les Paul $ bass, The SG does not get too much play time, in fact, very little at all...... I have been on the fence about maybe letting it go. Im not sure, I just really dont care for the 30" scale..

I do love the 4003 though, If my ship comes in, I would love a C-64 in MG to string up with some flats.

I have a hard time selling basses, I love them all, even the "orphans".

Hi guys,

This might be an odd question, but does any of your put some kind of cover over your Ric-O-Sound jack when not in use? (Yes, a buttplug) Does such a cover/plug exist?

I find myself reaching down and entering the wrong hole sometimes. (Yes, I've already thought about all the associated jokes but its actually a serious question, even if its not particularly vital.)

I'll refrain from the obvious jokes.. I've played Ricks since the early '70s and used to plug into the wrong jack all the time way back when until I trained myself to move my hand holding the jack and starting at the strap button slide my hand down feeling for the first plug, which is the mono one. I still do that silly as it seems.
