Already a club member and not sure if I posted my two new additions to the stable, 1973 checkered binding, factory toaster pup equipped Autumglo 4001 and Blackstar #17.

just got off the phone with MF on a different topic as they screwed up a shipment of 2 for 1's that never got the second. Anyway when i was done with CS i asked about my Ric Mid backorder. The CS rep mentioned that due to some fed regulation they need to hear from us every 30 days on the backorder to keep it alive. Sounds bogus about the fed but may be a way to get out from under the huge amount of backordered below market rics... He also stated that they usually send out the reminder but if they forget you must contact them... JUST A HEADS UP as the other thread appears closed...

I got an email from MF about my MID backorder. Previous emails said that they didn't know when they would get stock. But this one was different. This one said they are expected soon and that my order would ship within 30 days.:hyper:

I'm having a little problem with the finish on my mapleglo 4003, there are a lot of cracks in the finish around the binding and the finish seems to dent very easily (its a lot softer than any bass I've ever had experience with..) its been like that since i got it. (new) Has this every happened to anybody? I think the finish may have been cured to fast. Its still under warranty by the way.

For those who aren't aware, the warranty on the finish is one year from date of manufacture, not the date of purchase, so contact Ric customer service promptly!

Hello RIC fans

Question(s):

Are there string type and or size limitations for Rickenbacker 4001 and or 4003 series basses?

I'm a flat wound fan and looking for my first Rickenbacker. But I want the model that can take both rounds and flat's.

I believe that one can and one can't!

Please advise.
