I believe it's one of the Artist Series models, but don't know anything beyond that. Hopefully someone who knows will chip in.
I became a Samick owner a couple days back when I bought a used 6-string Artist Series for the equivalent of around 150 USD. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

I have 2 Samick SS basses. One is a Greg Bennett CR1 3 and the other is a tiny, but very heavy black one who's model number I don't know. I did a SN lookup and it's from 83 IIRC.
The latter had been in store for about 15y as I got it as part of a bulk deal, and from appearances, I thought it was guitar scale. I was going to give it away, but measured it and it's 30". I'm very tempted after the move, when I get the paint booth set up, to paint it magenta. I'll probably get EMGs at some point too as I have a J and just need to buy the P.

The Greg Bennett was bought whilst waiting for my Fender Jag to turn up, as it was listed in the next suburb for about $US75 and I thought, why not? I'm glad as when the Jag came it played and sounded so much worse than the Samick, I ended up swapping it for a full scale Ibanez. The marks on the fretboard are note decals that the previous owner, a music teacher put on it. It was mint condition and sold as he was retiring (he must have been 80 if he was a day).

Anyone know what the one on the right is? The pic was taken literally minutes after being removed from store and it's been cleaned up, set up and has some new D'Addarios on it.

This is perhaps the closest Samick to what I had as a kid back in 1990 or so. I wish I had kept mine.

Hi, while trying to identify my bass I found "The Samick Club". I have a 4-string that has to be the same series as your 5-string. Googling around I found this site: G
The model on my bass must be Samick GB 637 and yours should be GB5-627 or GB5-639.
This is a very nice bass, easy to play but hard to find, even the information was almost impossible to find. I will never let this bass go, it's definitely a keeper. These basses was produced only 1991-1992.

Hi from Sweden!

Came across this 'Ultramatic'. Anyone familiar with one? MIK
S/N starts with S0204.... would that possibly indicate 2002?

That's beautiful.

Dropping in to see if anyone knows if Greg Bennett guitars are still being made. I gather he died, and my phone won't let me access the website.

My dad has a rather nice semi hollow 6 string GB. I had the pleasure of meeting Greg when I was working at GC around 2003ish and he was traveling around teaching staff how to use and sell the roller capo. Nice guy and very enthusiastic.

I don't have any particular desire for one, but his guitars always seemed to punch above their price point. They're practically given away on the used market.

I was recently gifted a SDB5569. Looks like the preamp board has been repaired or more accurately attempted to be repaired more than a few times. It does play but I would like to re solder connections as it looks like a 3 year old did the work.

Does anyone have good pics of the board and or wiring diagrams? Want to make sure everything is correct.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, this (above) got away due to dragging my feet and life...

I came across this and had been watching used prices for a while and then Music Go Round had one reduced in a Minnesota store. It was erroneously advertised as a 5 string, so I contacted the store to verify it actually was a DB4 FM. I jumped on it and should be receiving it by this Saturday. Any thoughts good or bad on this neck thru?
