The LaBella Hellcat VI flatwounds are so incredibly comfortable on the fingertips, the smoothness is luxurious and the tension is just right. They feel very posh!

Just the nickle rounds are in. No stainless.

Just picked the Barracuda up after a set-up and fit with Fender Bass VI roundwounds. The Hellcat VI LaBella's don't work as we had thought. Let me know if these were the angles you were looking for John. If not, let me know what you want.

Will post later about results of the set-up. Initial reaction...FANTASTIC! RESULTS EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS!
just wondering, but has anyone tried using guitar strings for the B and e strings?
v. nice, where do you get them from?
You've outdone yourself Ken, thank you.
I wanted confirmation that the Burns Barracuda's string saddles were wedge-shaped, and they are.
I'd expect that doing intonation for flat-wounds on this instrument would involve loosening each string before adjusting its saddle in order to avoid kinking said string.
Grrrr. Must have stainless!
Think flats for the Cuda would be $55 to $61.86 or so for the LaBellas made for the Fender VI. Ridiculous when you remember the LaBella flats for the Cat VI are less than $14!!

From Eric Coco @ LaBella...
"Hello Ken,
We currently have no back orders for any Hellcat strings in house at the moment. If any of the hellcat players are looking for the sets, please ask Elderly to make an order. I will make sure to turn it around as quickly as possible. Thanks Ken,
Best regards,
Eric Coco"
Then its up to Elderly to see if they have enough orders...
Thanks. I'll go ahead and order a bunch from Elderly then. So you got stainless steel rounds from them? I was checking regularly and never saw them go on sale, so they must've only made a few sets. Can I trouble you for a review?
Dire, ever try any flats on your 'Cuda?
