I think it is a 1989, any info?

IngerAlb - thanks! the 3005 will actually turn out pretty nice when it's finished. I'm happy with it. I didn't think I'd get the body and neck looking that good.
porkdog - you have an '89. in 97 the numbers changed over to the first digits of the serial number are the last two numbers of the year. And Clearly, you're is Japanese made, just like all 800s. Anyway, I'll give you you're number now, but definitely post some pics, we all wanna check it out! You're #54

Also got into contact with Ibanez about the missing saddle insert for the 3005, hopefully they can hook it up. I can't wait to get this baby finished and rocking.

Speaking of NT Soundgears...
Is it always difficult to tell from a front view if the Soundgear models are neck through designs? Obviously, when maple's on top of the body, it covers up stringers.
Are there any giveaways (hints) to determine a bolt-on body vs. a neck through from a distance while looking at the front of an Ibanez SG body?

The only bass that they've put out with a hidden neck design is the SRT805DX.
Other NT models are 900s, 1000s, 1200s, and the SRTs. Obviously, not all years are NT.
900s prior to '00s were BO
1200s prior to '00s were NT
1000s prior to '00s were BO
The easiest way to tell if it's NT besides the stringers it the way the upper horn meets the neck. The horn on the NTs curves up toward the headstock as it meet the neck whereas the BO horn meet the neck with no upward curve.
EDIT: The SR924 and SR2040 were also NT
Yup, you got it!
It's hard to tell because of the finish, but the bass is Maple with a Maple/Bubinga neck, you can see the stringers below the bridge running almost parallel with the E and D strings.
