That's the only reason why I'm even debating trying to sale my new SR 1605. I love the finish of that new bass and the nordstrand pickups really make these bass sound awesome. Hopefully I'll get one soon.

First thing you must check is the pickups height.Try lower them at the 4-5mm of the strings.Strong magnets do strange thinks.

INTONATION (ROUGHING IT OUT)

You can preset the basic intonation of your bass by taking a tape measure and measuring from the inside of the nut to the center of the 12th fret (the fret wire itself; not the fingerboard). Double that measurement to find the scale length of your bass.


Adjust the first-string bridge saddle to this scale length, measuring from the inside of the nut to the center of the bridge saddle. Now adjust the distance of the second saddle back from the first saddle, using the gauge of the second string as a measurement. For example, if the second string is .060" (1.5 mm), you would move the second-string saddle back .060" (1.5 mm) from the first saddle. Move the third saddle back from the second saddle, using the gauge of the third string as a measurement. Adjust the fourth saddle in the same manner (and fifth if you have a five-string bass).


Note: If you're using a taper-wound fourth string (and fifth if it's a five-string bass), use the actual gauge of the string for your measurement rather than the dimension of the tapered portion of the string.""

First bass in my life that have 100% correct setup(SR 705 TK).Very low action,only 0,15 relief and completely zero fret buzz.Intonation spot on.The Bartolinis have a 5mm neck and 4mm bridge height and i just change that to 3mm and 2mm for my prefer. Plays like a champion.I am really impressed.The neck is not that slim that i was imagine but is very good and fast.When i first played it's like i have for many years that bass,really familiar and comfort.The finish of the bass and the overall filling is high end like.Only the pots needed a retight and a little rise to work seamlessly.

The electronic department of the Ibanez QC must fired ASAP.The only bad thing with the bass (ruin almost my entire afternoon) is that one cable of the neck pup is unsoldered and the bass makes a houge buzz.Fixed by my self in 5 minutes but was very unconvenient and takes a lot of courage and thoughts to make it on brand new bass.I was waiting for that bass about 1,5 month and is not really an option to send it back.

The sound is good,typical HiFi active bass tone.Like it.A little hiss if the treble rise but not to much.Α not dead silent bass for sure.

Guys,is the EQB-IIIS preamp a little to weak side?I find that is almost weak like my passive basses.In my Ampeg with the active mode i can,t clip my preamp with EQ flat and the gain all way up.Strange :unsure:.
My other basses do it that.The rise of the pups give me a little volume but not much.How is yours?Mine is a EBQ3S 1.1 version(10/2013 my bass date).

I am very pleased with that bass,special for the comfort and looks.I make it my main bass.The weight/size/playability and the Hifi sound is awesome.

Thank you Technotitclan,i see that.The only think makes me do that test is that my old passive Yamaha RBX with only one P magnet have more power,so i thought maybe something is not right.I am not inclined at all now.I really love that bass.
I just found another problem with my SR,way more difficult to solve,and i just refuse to send her back.I am in love with that super-super good fretboard,the gorgeous figured maple top and the almost dark purple rosewood.When i fix that problem i will inform.My God,so much bad luck with that bass:unsure:
