Since we've now got a club going, might as well talk sound gears and pick your brains...

Can anyone recommend a pickup/pre amp replacement for me SR800? As I said earlier, I was never overly happy with the sound. I'm not sure what type of pickups are in it at the moment (although they are the originals form 2002), but it's got a 3 band EQ with mid sweep.

I tried EMG's with and without the EMG pre, Bartolini with Bartolini pre, and DiMarzios with an EMG pre and a Sadowski pre. The EMG's were the most like the Ibanez pickups, and the Barts were my favorite. I also tried flatwounds and tapewounds on two of my stock 800's, and really liked the tapewounds.

Man, there's some nice lookin' Soundgears in here! I used to have an SR505 as well as an SR506, and now I've got an SR755

I'm absolutely jealous of the guys that I've seen on TB with the SR505 PB, absolutely beautiful!

Hey, just out of curiosity, is anyone here a freak about the cases they keep their babies in? I know I am. I managed to get a hold of a Prestige case for my 905. The 1015 has it's original case and the 885 has a newer MB100C case.

I am to a certain degree. When it comes to hard cases especially, it cannot say a different brand of instrument on it. For instance, when I brought in my SR755 to get a set up, I brought it in a Schecter hard case. It made me sad

All of my basses are kept in their hardshell cases when not used and stored in a climate controlled room.

Mine too, right now the only thing NOT in a case is my guitar, I have the case in the trunk of my car. Don't ask why, I don't even have a reason for it. I guess because it's just a guitar. lol
