That being said I am so so so afraid to really start playing it, because all my other matte finish ibanez soundgear basses had terrible awful weak finishes that scratched through immediately.
I assume that the SRFF805 has the same?
I am gonna take it apart and put several coats of matte polyurethane on the body here soon so I can actually start rocking this guy.
Newer Ibby 3-bands are great, clean and quiet with well placed corners; a low-mid cut is useful on bright basses (or for slap on any bass) while the hi-mid boost is useful on 'woodier', darker basses to bring out their mwah.
All gold. And generally I hate gold hardware, but I think it will look good there.Or two black/ two gold???
The finish on my SRFF806 has been good in these last 5 years. But, this bass hasn't been used that much, as I've concluded that I'm more of a 5 string player. I did play it on stage, but only in one or two occasions, I think. Although, I've used it more in studio rehearsals.
I've seen others who posted pictures of regularly used SRFF basses. The finishes seem okay. At least, not as bad as the SR500 series.
Anyone know a source for a set of SR1200e knobs? Or even just one big and one small one.

I have a similar cable in a 6-inch length that I've used for similar purposes. I got it from Sweetwater.

I use the Line 6 G30 that I am really happy with. It has different channels. Also bought an extra transmitter. Haven't had any issues what so ever, just remember to turn one transmitter off when switching to other. The only con is, it does like to use the batteries. I bought rechargeables and have been using the system almost a year. I also use transmitter packs instead of the cheap strap hanger on the back of the transmitter, have read they break easily. Think I payed like 8 bucks for the transmitter pack each.

I'll admit... I've had to do a lot of soul searching over the past 15-20 years before I finally came to the conclusion that I just may be a Soundgear guy. I often fell into the hype of "I-been-hadz" mob mentality and the hipster mentality of "Soundgears are ubiquitous, everyone has one, I dare to be different" often to my detriment.
I once had a budget level Soundgear that was my second/spare to a higher end model... and I found myself preferring to play the Soundgear more because it balanced better on me. (I no longer own these basses).
I recently traded a Carvin SB5000 for a killer Japanese-made Soundgear meant to serve as my second/spare to a heavily modded ESP/LTD I have as my #1. Guess what? I vastly prefer playing that Soundgear! The way it balances/sits on me standing, its light weight, and it's deliciously slender neck that my hands love is not something I can ignore. Whether I sling it jazz-high or punk low, it's a joy to play.

My current plan is to have that Soundgear be my EADG bass (with an eventual Hipshot Xtender to click into DADG) and set up my ESP/LTD for DGCF tuning (so the Hipshot Xtender clicks it into CGCF tuning). Both basses will serve unique purposes, but I'll likely be playing that Soundgear more.

I don't have a massive amount of experience with a huge number of basses, never modded many, never complex mods etc; but it seems to me from that limited experience and reading too much TB that it is easier to mod a bass to sound like you want it to than it is to make an uncomfortable bass more comfortable. I'll have to do a post on the mods to mine but every time I play another bass (no matter how much I "want" it) they never feel as good as mine.
Here is mine, perhaps again but with the latest tinkering.
It's a 2015 SR755NTF. Tuners have been replaced with Gotoh Res-o-Lites as I like my neck up a bit (as you'll see). The neck pickup is the original CND/Carey Nordstrand Design P pickup, the bridge pickup is a Nordstrand Big Split made specifically to match the neck PU. These are available for both the 750/755 and the SR 650/655. I play it in passive so often it hasn't had a battery in it for a year or so . The preamp is great but I like the passive sounds which are deliberately Fender - although there are other sounds in there too even on the passive setting.
It's about 9lbs or 4.2kg (old bathroom scales) and I use a GruvGear Duostrap which is just great. The centre strap of the GruvGear goes to the original strap pin but the shoulder straps go to another strap pin which is about 3" (75 mm) above the original pin position (I use Schaller locking strap pins). You'll see this in the second photo.
The final photo shows the bass as it hangs. It actually falls a little to my right naturally which reduces my reach out to the first fret - sort-of like a longhorn bass. I play the odd bass other than mine & even though I really enjoy many of them none are as comfortable as mine and this bass gets a great P tone, a J, a '80s Aria SB tone and odds and sods in between and it's the most comfortable bass I have as yet played. Still on the lookout for a 755... Let me know if you ever want to sell yours (doesn't sound likely)
