Nice to hear that you find it as good as the 1345B. I had a bit of a lust after the 1356B when it came out in the NY, but I'm not sure it's much of an upgrade over my old beloved 806, especially with some better PUs as the Mk1s are pretty average.
Next time I'm in a decent sized store, about 4hr e/w, I'll try one out.

Yeah, I'm certain I couldn't tell them apart if blindfolded - from a feel & playability aspect. The 805 feels like an upgrade for the most part (IMO). I prefer the gloss body protection over the bare wood of the 1345B. For me, the multiscale aspect puts it solidly over the 1345B, IMO.

The dual coil Barts might not be everyone's cup-o-tea, but I'm sure digging the dual coil sound. Just sounds so much more alive than my 1345B in the tone department. Ibanez put out a real gem with these multi-scale instruments and put them at a price point that is very reasonable, even within their own models. About $400-500 dollars less than some of the Premium models. Whole lot of bang for the buck! :thumbsup:

The red SR300EB is my practice at home bass. The brown SR600E is my gigging and recording bass. The grey SR300E is my practise away bass.

Hey guys! Have one question for experienced SR owners. I have an SR300e and am thinking about upgrading because I want to make recordings and still far my ears didn't get that sound I wanted . I'm lefty so it's better for me to upgrade pickups than change the bass. Of course my choice is Nordstrand production, but there are some doubts, because I ' m not an experienced player. First of all I like more single mode sound but still want more clarity in it. So the question is: are Nordstrands have a much more clear and deep sound compared with Powerspans? If yes, so how is it better to upgrade pickups as experienced players opinion? If I put Big Singles or Big Blades (or Big Splits?) will it sound much clearer than Powerspan single mode? Second question: if i put Big Single or Split on the neck, can i still change humbucking-single mode with my bridge Powerspan?

It's an upgrade, IMHO. Stands up against a Dingwall Combustion.

imo, which tends to the one I value more highly, my 34" B works just fine. Especially with the new light-gauge (LR5-40; 40-120) DR high beams I just put on :smug:

I had a couple of lower series Ibanez a while back - a gsr200 and sr305 - I liked them well enough, nothing particularly wrong with them. Their new owners are apparently quite happy with them :thumbsup:

I think the mid- to upper mid-tier? stuff is what suits me best.....like 800-ish series, especially vintage-y. I absolutely love my '89 885le, even more than I like my Thunderbirds :bag:
