The Spaceman Club

The Saturn series is my favorite dirty boost out there with the Broughton Solarian.

I kinda prefer the original Saturn V for reasons I can’t fully wrap my head around.
Two things,

1. How would you compare the Saturn and the Solarian, tonally?

2. Saturn V vs Saturn VI. Could it be the addition of a tone-stack in the VI that takes something away from the V?

PS,
Sorry for bringing up an older post.

I really love my Explorer and decided to pull the trigger on an Aurora last night. I definitely wasn't enjoying adult beverages when I did that. Should be here Saturday. It was between the Aurora, Thorpyfx Camoflange, and the Alexander F13. There wasn't a whole lot of info for bass applications for the Aurora or the Thorpy. The Alexander sounded fantastic on bass but I hate those pedals with buttons that change what the knobs do. I much prefer everything be straightforward and accessible on the top. Really hoping the Aurora does what I want it to, but considering how much I love the Explorer I am confident.

I’m very close to pulling the trigger on an Aurora. The Explorer is a first-class phaser on bass, I can’t imagine their other modulation would disappoint either. I haven’t had a flanger pedal in over a decade it seems (Boss flanger). Interested to hear what you think of it when it arrives.

Finally found an explorer to check out. Should have it in a few days. Super excited!!!

I’ll more then likely get another one down the road :) (and end up shelling out the secondary market price for one)

I’m surprised more companies are not making phasers with similar features as the Explorer, as well as just surprised Spaceman isn’t making anymore (aside from probable resource and manufacturing reasons). Asheville Music Tools hinted that they will be making modulation pedals in the future - I’m really hoping for a phaser from them.

I own both the Aurora and the Camoflange and both are equally great. Their features vary a bit, but they both offer a nice variety of sounds.

Really enjoying the Aurora on bass so far. It’s got a ton of tones available and a lot of capability and interactivity between the controls. It is definitely for sonic explorers, that’s for sure…lots of noise to be made :).
Wish I had the funds available to do a side by side with the Camoflange. No low end loss and dead silent. Built like a tank as all Spaceman pedals are. So far really pleased.

Alright well this thread is a bit slower so I just went ahead and bought the Meteor version of the Sputnik and man this thing kicks some booty. I don't have anywhere to test it out live, and honestly it won't be leaving my house as it's more of a collectors item than anything, but I love it. That makes 3 Spaceman pedals for me. I will probably pick up a regular version of the Sputnik if I ever start playing out again. Oddly enough though, the Damnation Audio MBD-1 I have can get into similar territory so it might not even be necessary. Figured I'd update since my last post.

Coast Sonic put up a notification yesterday about this as well on their IG. I don’t know if the rocket in the picture is any reference. I wonder if we are going to get another modulation pedal. Did the email notification give any hints/details?

Per the email

"Launchpad Cleared for Takeoff.

Countdown Initialized.

Please Stand By.

Engineers have cleared Launchpad 9 for takeoff and countdown has begun for the launch of the next Spaceman release, to be announced Tuesday, August 24th at 9:00 am PDT.

Please take this time to log in to your account to consult your flight manual and ensure your crew documents are in current order. Helmet and suit inspections will be conducted by Margo and Ellen at Building 1 (Entrance C), through end of day Monday."

I dunno.

Maybe a distortion?

my wallet is not ready.

I'd love to see a chorus from them.
Would looooooove to see a chorus from them as well! Unfortunately this seems like a smaller pedal (3 Knobs it seems from the pictures), and I don’t see them making small box modulations - even though I would love for them to make a stripped down version of the Explorer.

Edit:
Now looking at the latest teaser on IG it looks like it has two smaller trim knobs? I can’t tell.

Certainly does. 3 big knobs, 2 trim pots, and a toggle switch. Also looks like 2 jack on the right side of the pedal (see blue one in the background), so maybe EXP?
