Finally, after much procasteration.
Got it new at a local owned shop. Was on the way to GC to get one but took a shot in the dark on the local place. They usually take care of any setup issues out of the box before setting instruments out on the floor, so I was pleased to see one hanging on the wall. No fret issues and set-up was quite good.
And as a bonus they had a Tahitian Coral Sonic Bronco hanging next to it. So I got to compare both. Neck on the Bronco was beefier than the mini, which I liked. Mini neck felt fine though.
Both had neck dive sitting without a strap but the Bronco had a lot more than the Mini. Plus the Mini's stock p/up has more punch. No plans to upgrade it yet. The Bronco p/up wasn't what I'd call "in immediate need of upgrade " though. I wouldn't be ashamed to gig with it. I'd at least give it a chance in a mix before yanking it out.
Anyhow, got home with the Mini and put my Franklin strap on it. As expected, no more neck dive. Not a bit. Cool.
Bass weighs in at about 6.25 pounds.
