That bass is calling out to me. I Really, Really don't Need it. But the GAS exists. Not gonna lie. 
Always told myself if Fender brought back the mini, I was in. But - it would be very irresponsible of me.

mine just arrived. it has a perfectly straight neck and nice action out of the box. it could use a tiny bit of fret sprout addressing but it's not too bad.

So. Mikro strings on a Mini P.
As you can see, the taper starts just past the nut.
However, the G string is a little short. I only get 3/4 turn onto the post.
Again, you can see the tapers just past the nut.
While the strings were off, I applied the red pearl block stickers, and removed the thumbrest.

I signed up on TB (long time occasional lurker though) because I'm interested in that mini PBass... But not as as a bass. Sounds weird, but bear with me.
I'm rather looking for a baritone guitar, but I like to mix-and-match when it comes to instruments (even my Cabronita bass has a Mike Dirnt neck), and I like the shape and layout of the PBass.
Moving the bridge isn't an issue, but I was wondering about the neck pocket and plate? Is it the same as a Strat? I've photoshopped this a few times, and sometimes it seems it would be a direct fit, sometimes it's a bit off, but pictures are sometimes taken at an angle that screws up proportions... But the pocket width looks the same.
If someone was to do some maintenance/work and had a non-Tele Fender/Squier guitar neck to try it on, could you confirm (or not) that the neck pocket and plate fit on the bass body?

For those who are curious: yellow is the neck mounting pattern for the Strat, blue is for the Mini PBass. They don't align exactly; however due to distortion in the original pictures I know they each are slightly off, but not to what extent.

Pulled the trigger and mine will be here Thursday. I can’t wait to give it a test. I love my 30” ss Epiphone AW RumbleKat but always shooting for that p bass sound. They keep saying these are for youngsters to start on when they have small hands, they would make more money if they also advertised to us old guys with short fingers AND arthritis.
I agree. So often, short scales are advertised as for the student or child. Geez. There are lots of us who want small instruments for other reasons.

Sorry to hear that. Mine arrived today and I haven’t Put it down. Arrived with good low action all I had to do is tune it.
Single string hath arriven, and hath been installed. My G-string is no longer tenuous.
Also, I posed her for another pic because she's so pretty.
Note the ukulele attached to the pillar... I hope to have it enveloped in Ivy next year.
Day two with this bass. No sharp frets, no marks from machinery on the neck. Sounds quite good as it is and feels good to play (although I prefer wider necks). I wanted something even smaller and lighter than my Mustang PJ without being toyish. You can definitely se that it is an inexpensive bass. But that will not keep me from enjoying it. Out of nowhere I like Dakota red.
To me this is perfect for travelling. Fits in a guitar bag. With the Vox Amplug I am ready for the tour that will never happen

Dang... the red looks good in your photo. I ordered the black, mainly because I just picked up a red Bronco, but I would have loved to see a red Mini Precision in person before making a final decision.
The colour is really nice in the evening lights. So I had to post a picture. Did not care for fiesta red on a road worn. A darker version of red would be even better. Black is always good though!
The color is really nice in just about any light! I never even considered the black one. I already have too many black (and/or sunburst) basses.
My Squier Mini Precision is still a couple of weeks away but I thought I would take my Jay Turser Mini Precision and get it ready for their eventual shootout. I bought this Turser a couple of years ago for 50 bucks and have been using it beside my computer to learn songs and as an occasional backup bass. It's a great bass and really needed some love. I did a full set up with D'Addario Chrome flatwounds, adjusted the intonation and string height and now it plays great. Didn't even have to touch the truss rod.
I'm having the shop put the same strings on the Squier when it arrives and do their set up. It will be interesting to compare their set up to mine. One thing I can tell for sure is that the E string will definitely need some sort of spacer to have all silk on the tuning post of the Squier. The Turser Mini P is a full 30" scale and you can see there is not much silk left on the E. The other strings should all be fine.
