Isn’t it great? I don’t think I appreciate it when it was new but it’s really grown on me since.
Mine too... Never understood the hate for it... I really like DS9 too.. best cast of Characters.. Qwark, Odo, Garrik, Dax, Worf,, so many ways the show went with these very unique characters.. the weakest people on the show were the federation characters.
I have mixed feelings about DS9 but I watch it if I am up that late. We've been watching Voyager, and have been really enjoying it. That's now my 2nd favorite series.
I think you mean the human characters. Worf and Dax are both Starfleet, although they are both outsiders. But Sisko was great. Bashir and O’Brien were one of the best tv buddy teams. Jake was really the weakest character, but only relative to the others. He still had some good stories.
Let me expand,,, I liked all the characters on the show.. like I said DS9 was one of my favorites (rewatching it right now) Cisco, Bashir and O'brien are all great.. But the new species and cultures were very compelling.. With all of the Star Trek we have seen over the years, having non typical federation major characters was refreshing..
Even on Voyager and Enterprise Flox and Neelix become pretty typical star fleet charachters.. Qwark, Odo and Garrick are not.

I’ve been watching the 4K UHD remasters of II III and IV. The video quality varies from pretty good to pretty damn good. The 2K Blu-ray counterparts are quite inferior in comparison. The 4K remasters are the best these great movies are ever likely to look.

With TNG remasters you can see bolts and wobbling consoles and Data’s makeup rubbed off on things. Doesn’t it looks worse by trying to look better?

Those shows were made knowing the display devices at the time didn't have the resolution to reveal most of those flaws. TVs weren't good enough, or large enough.
OTOH the movies were made with huge screens in mind and they had to be way more careful about that stuff.
Now most everyone has large high-resolution flatscreen TVs and the flaws in the TV shows stand out. The movies hold up much better because they were always intended to be shown in "high resolution" on large screens. The early transfers to home video were not the greatest though. Remastering from the original elements brings the films up to current technical standards for home viewing.
