Huh, wonder why the same instrument is listed 4 times each with different prices (& $37k? huh?)

so many mysteries, so few answers.

btw i'm looking for a used Status headless neck-thru S2 or S3 4 string if anyone has a extra one lying around... they certainly don't come up for sale very often.

Recently purchased this Streamline bass, and I absolutely love it. It's comfortable, lightweight, and sounds absolutely amazing. I'm really hoping to get a fretless Streamline soon if anyone has one they'd like to part with.... would really be curious about any fretless 4 string Status.

I have a fretless s2 and I love it, it is a bit like playing an ebony wal which I have owned but I might go so far as to say it's better mainly because the neck is so spot on that it mwahs like crazy. Another thing is you can use roundwounds on it without worrying about wear. Also the pickups and circuitry suit the fretless sound quite nicely, it's easily the best bass I have ever owned, had it a while now but I'm still in awe of it.

Hi guys, I've just purchased a headless status bass from a TBer and will likley be receiving it either late next week or early the week after. I had a question about using double ball strings on the headless models. I know most of the headless models can also use single ball strings but youll be having the chopped ends sticking out of the neck. Will the status S3 headless be able to use double ball strings from labella, GHS and d'addario? or is it specifically designed for the status Hotwire strings?

Congrats on your purchase. :thumbsup:

It's just a standard head piece, the Status strings are just standard double balls.

Steinberger set the standard, but "standard" double-ball strings can sometimes be difficult to make fit on a real Steinberger - the original spec actually called for slightly longer E and A strings, to compensate for the larger bend radius at the nut. But any "Steinberger" double-ball strings should work on any 34" scale Status Headless. I personally use Status strings, both on my Status basses and on my Steinberger.
