@LowEndLobster
I have a question about the Status fingerboard. I have a 1991 StingRay with PF fingerboard that was PLEKked just under 4 years ago but that is now showing signs of wear in one spot. It is not visible but is more than audible. I am thinking of replacing the neck with a Status rather than going back for another PLEK job as I suspect the fingerboard will last a little longer.
In the attached mp3, I just gliss slowly, starting with a
mp dynamic, on each string from the lowest note to the top of the fingerboard, so F->Db on E, Bb->Gb on A, Eb->B on D and Ab->E on G. At around 14.5s you can hear the wear causing a nasty buzz as I move through the F on the D string. But you can also hear how consistent all the other notes are.
My question is how do you think the Status fingerboard compares, in terms of consistency, playability and general flatness? Do you think it would need further work to get to that standard or is it there from the factory?
(From 26s on it is just running over the F on D)
Thanks for taking the time - I know you are a busy chap!
