dont recall ever seeing a single pu king bass …so you presumably solely slap on the neck pickup? That's a bit hardcore…did you get a discount?…not that I could ever forgo the bridge ..way too sonically useful.

if you want a new one then you are probably looking at a year when they do decide to take orders ...and then for the price of slighly less than new you can have this one.

I'm pretty sure a new one with the same specs would come out to less. But I suppose if someone is in a hurry... It's true that Status (at least according to their website) still isn't accepting new orders.
Yes it was a little odd; Status posted to their social media accounts that they added a second CNC machine, and simultaneously closed new orders to get caught up on past orders and finish developing some new ideas. I'm very, very curious what the future holds for Status.

If you're a serious buyer, I'm sure there's room to negotiate. A new one will be considerably more and as stated, a long wait.
I just added up the costs based on the specs of the bass in question (I don't think I missed anything, but it's possible). The total (according to the current Status price list) would be 3679.18 GBP. That would be approximately $5010 USD today. So the cost cited by the seller is legit. I just got my first Status. I bought an Series 3000 with cherry body. The neck profile needs some getting use to. Not bad, but different. The sound is very nice, I like it a lot. I'm going to check the frets during weekend and string it with new strings. I'm going to order strings from Status for future needs. Pics tomorrow.
Here it is, S3000 serial #81. I wonder what year is that. I leveled and polished the frets yesterday, now it plays with low action and no buzzes.
I just stumbled on to this! I have an older Headless S-2; serial #207...I had sold it once but bought it back again. I'm fascinated by all of the photos, and have only gone through a fraction of the 45 pages of posts. The thing that puzzles me is that the string retainer at the "headstock" end of the neck appears to be different from other pictured here. Mine seems smaller in dimension...it more closely resembles the original Steinberger L-2 with the 4 holes drilled for inserts to secure single ball end strings. Oh, and may I please have a number? Anything other than ∏.
Welcome, Fred. Yeah, this thread is one of the best visual bass porn threads on TB, IMHO.
