pretty damn DOOM.

here's the whole room, which is actually my living room.
wifey is super cool and doesn't mind that we practice in here.
great sound - 1.5 stories, peaked ceiling - I've never had a practice space that sounded better.

those are my drums, too. =-D

How do you like the Electric Power Unit Amp? I've seen a lot of people use these, especially bassists, as opposed to a Non Volume or Master Volume Unit. Does the 3 knob configuration give you enough versatility or range? It says on their site any knob configuration is the same price, they just change based on wattage. So why'd you go with the 3 knob version?

Awesome idea, we should organize a mini festival...

We should have an open doom bassist jam. 15 bassists and one sick ass drummer.

Doesn't basically everyone in this thread live in the VA/md/dc area? I don't know, but a giant bass fest would be...insane. we'd need a ******* drummer though. Necessary!

My years long search for a drummer has me seriously considering going the Godflesh route and getting a drum machine.

**** it. I'll play drums. Woodbridge ain't that far!

Full disclosure: I can't play drums that well and I don't have a kit. Oh yeah, and I don't have any free time until school is done next year.

I've decided to put up or shut up. I bought one of these as an early birthday present.

I'm gonna catalog my attempts to write the most epic stoner/doom songs. If any of them are actually any good I'll post them here.

I've been jamming in drop C with a guitard (actually he's a bassist with a guitar). He wanted to do sludgy/drone/stoner stuff. Alas he cannot groove to save himself. He grew up playing technical death metal, so unless a stoner riff goes blam-blablabla-bla----bla---blabla----bla then he is lost. Poor dude. Its his loss because to me that is not music.

Not me. I live on the west coast.

West coast here too. And our band is also in need of a drummer. We've been holding auditions...Oy Vey.

Comments from drummers thus far. And we made crystal clear what we are playing, who our influences are, etc...:

"I'd say my biggest influences are Poison, Ratt, and Dokken."

"I don't know, I'm just not really feeling the slower stuff."

"I'm having a hard time finding the groove. I'll have to go home and f**k my wife harder tonight...or maybe I'll do my mistress."

"I really look up to Lars Ulrich. I think he's amazing."

"I just got tattooed on my arm, so I might be off tonight."

"I need to be honest. I've only been playing drums for a month...I really just wanted to play some music."

"Yeah, whatever I'm down to play this s**t. It's just stripped down rock n roll with a heavy emphasis on groove."

The last quote is kinda true, but he didn't really give me the sense that he had a passion for our style of music. And he was the glam-rock guy.

FML.
