It's an awesome amp. My guitarist also owns a 1974 Marshall SuperLead and her prefers the Peavey.
One popped up local last month but I work too much to mess with it. Plus I'm a bass player first and got a p bass project in the works anyway

In Return is what's got my interest. I wouldn't necessarily call them Doom, but who cares? I would put them near Fu Manchu or Kyuss in the record store...

they aren't super doomy, but they are VERY stoner. listen to "across the shields" and tell me they aren't high as ****.
that's what made me start listening to them, they are heavy, but still catchy and melodic and you can sing along - sound stoned out in the process, but still sing along

One of the guitarists from Billows has a Butcher.
That amp made me start looking at Peavey's again.

They may not be stoner/doom but I think they are one of the best bands in Baltimore.
They might be a better band on record than live. Never seen them live but the few tracks I heard off Valley of Smoke sound sweet.
I really dig Intronaut I've been listening to them for awhile. Sick drummer, great atmospheric music and some really slick basslines.
Peavey makes great stuff. Those who bash them are mostly probably just closed-minded snobs.

I had a FireBass 700 and I wanted an Ampeg so bad that I traded it.
One of my biggest gear related regrets for sure!
intronaut is good but too many of their songs follow the same pattern for me. and when the one guitarist left most of their heavy edge left with him, which was what i loved about them. null and void are awesome albums, not a huge fan of all after those.

Speaker of fuzz pedals, have any of you guys tried a devi ever Ruiner? I'm tempted to try one out as a replacement for my dying black Russian Big Muff.
