Well I gigged my Finally v3 for the first time (have already used it recording and it sounds great). Not an ideal live sound scenario--BIG boomy room, hard surfaces everywhere and the band is on a hollow wooden stage that has a life of its own. Even the Tele through a Deluxe with the bass knob almost totally off was making the stage howl. Every time the lead singer would stomp his foot, it sounded like somebody hit a low gong. No subs for the PA, just Mains with 15"s but up on stands. I gotta say the Hi Pass saved the day, 'cause it was a mess. Rolling the bass knob down on my amp (with a 2x12 cab) at first didn't really help. In all my years this is the first time I have ever had a device with a controllable Hi-Pass like that on my board (dang it TB, you were right!;)).
In this case it was obviously good that I was sending the hi-passed signal also to FOH, but I could envision it would be cool in a future version if the hi-pass was switchable to be for either both outputs or just the 1/4" out.
And the Ground lift switch came in handy too. Yep, it was one of those gigs...
Not a good environment to experience how it sounded, but I already knew from using it my studio it sounded great, so this just confirms I made a solid choice with this box.

As you get comfy with the HPF you may find it's not only useful for eliminating boom in a problem room, but also can also allow you to goose your bass knob in a good room with results you couldn't get without it.

Thanks for the response. The amp I'm thinking of using it with is a Peavey T-Max. It's been inoperable for the past few years but I'm currently trying to get it fixed. Anyway, last I remember it didn't get super distorted. More of a slight, crunchy distortion. My main reason for asking about the More is due to the lack of EQ, but maybe the UA would be a good option since you can bypass it. But that leads me to wonder, why not the Finally? 🤔

Finally would be great if you want the DI and/ or HPF and don't need eq, but costs more. It's pretty much a UA with those features instead of eq, so it all depends on your needs/wants.

IK, it's a "just use your ears" thing, and I can guess pretty much, but what freq is the hi-pass at when at say 12 o'clock noon? About 80hz?

MORE is designed to stay clean and deliver gobs of clean boost, it is really designed NOT to saturate. It can be pushed to a breaking point but the result was unpleasant and terrible noisy. I tried it using a compressor and a TC Spark mini that has a full 30db on tap. If you want saturation crunch all the way to distortion without a tone control then the UA is exactly what your looking for as it has a really nice amp like breakup IMHO.

CCW it's 120hz, CW it's 30hz so if the value changes linearly, as it sounds to me, it should be 75hz, but I have no way of verifying that.

My P bass into my Rumble 100 is super boomy, especially the low strings in the 10-12th fret area, so in our boomy local dive I keep the HPF at 12, Bass at 10 and Lo Mid at 12. The HPF is a lifesaver.

Just picked up the original Slampegg (12ax7) in the classifieds. Would love to read others feedback, but 1297 pages is tough to search through.

I am using a UA into a Finally 2 right now (Cali76 comp into those). Sounds great, but do like an Ampeg tone stack and flavor. Would be cool to have different preamp options on my little board.

The Slampegg Bee had a couple of variants from the original mini tube version Slampegg Bee Pre and Slampegg Bee Pre X versions with a 12ax7 to the current big daddy Grand Slampegg. I have a minitube version that captures the tone and vibe of the venerable Ampeg B15 that is such a classic that is kept on my recording board to give me that option. It offers a great alternative to the UA and will add to your tonal vocabulary. I appreciate having the gain to dial in the right crunch as well as the added options that the tone switches offer and of course the James variant that Ampeg used of the Baxandall circuit that is simply so musical.

So I was able to use my Finally v1 at our Christmas Eve service. I really liked how my OC2-ish octave setting sounded through it.

This morning I dialed in an eq setting with my EQ2 and got, IMO, an awesome tone.

I really like what the Finally brings to the table. My IEM's have never sounded better. FOH sound engineer liked it as well.

I wanted to pop in and sing the praises of the Neptunium. I got a Noble two months ago after having had the Neptunium for over a year. They’re so close in what they do for the price difference it’s crazy. I think if you ran the More in front of the Neptunium you’d be 100% there in getting the little extra bit of tube compression/harmonics happening in the Noble by itself. I plan on keeping both but not feeling like I’m losing much anything if I need the extra space and run the Neptunium.

I think they should be nearly identical on the XLR output but there are differences on the 1/4" output since the Neptunium does not have the second tube that only works on the 1/4" output. The XLR and 1/4" output both use the first tube but the second tube is just another stage for the 1/4" output.
If you don't use the 1/4" output on a Noble / Nobelium you can remove the second tube.

Alright, Pisces! That's a nice setup you've concocted. I, too, am a fan of SushiFx in front of the V803.
