I know I've mentioned this in other threads before, but I'm partial to OCD circuits. I've owned two or three Fuzzrocious Demons over the years, and I'm on my second Joyo Ultimate Drive. Contrary to the Rat, I'd be motivated to try some other takes on the OCD. ;);)

Ryan (Fuzzrocious) changed the Demon circuit so it doesn't have the Hi-Lo switch anymore, and it's now fixed in the High position, which I didn't like. And the Joyo is really compressed. If someone could get me an OCD optimized for bass, with the Hi-Lo switch and less overall compression, now that'd be something.

Lab Rat is a "Take No Prisoners and Make No Apologies" kind of sound.

The Edison does add a nice "something" to the sound... but it's a little more subtle than I was hoping for.

Some more than others, and I'd have to make a few adjustments I think, but not the end of the world. The Edison actually sounded nice after the C4 as well, like adding a little icing to the C4 sounds in addition to having a nice something on the overall bass tone when the C4 was off. I can only assume the Westinghouse would behave in a very similar manner.

Verdict:
I feel like a Westinghouse would be nice a nice addition (especially if there's even more "something" with the Voltage control). But, can/do I want to dedicate pedalboard space to "subtle" or would something less niche/more versatile be a better idea? #waffling lol

Pedal board space, this is why I plan on putting my Westinghouse in the effect loop of my class D super clean amp.

I have an SFX MicroThumpinator and love it. I blind-tested it by unplugging power from my FX Loop pedal, hit the switch countless times so I didn't know when it was in-chain or bypassed, and I didn't hear any difference. Now staring at my Genzler 15" cone, I could definitely see the difference, just like their demo video.

That's a thought as well, but my main amp has a tube pre in it already. (although I'm sure the Westinghouse would probably sweeten it more of course.) But, most of my gigs are either IEM or in the process of switching over to them, so the pedalboard is where things will go! (or not)

Nice! I have an original Thumpinator, and it's a great pedal. Very solid, and does its job well. :thumbsup:

I'll have to see if I can track down a 2x15.

It is set up for 7027A, but alas I don't have any on hand. Also the seller included the tubes in his pictures and didn't mention not including tubes, but apparently decided not to include them. So I'll be having words with him, but I have a matched pair of 6550, so they'll go in it for now. It uses a 7199 for a phase inverter though, and I don't have anything like that around so I've had to order one and it's going to be about a week, so after 3 weeks of waiting I still have to wait a little longer :unsure:

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on either a Westinghouse or a Space Heater for April. They both seem to fit the bill of adding some tubey character to my sound.

Edit:

I went back and read stuff from last week... Space Heater it is!

Edit 2:

But the Westinghouse seems like it would also do cool tubey things!


I love my AG-700- I just want to add some tubiness sometimes! Or maybe a lot of tubiness othertimes!
