I hope you'll excuse me patting myself on the back, but it turns out everything that sounds good for bass also sounds good for guitar.

I has been a long known "secret" of producers and great guitar players that mixing in a bit of clean, direct or acoustic guitar to a distorted guitar part adds richness and clarity, even in miniscule amounts, slowly those secrets are trickling down and are becoming more possible to incorporate.

This is my 4th wedding band the first 3 were silver, but I'm apparently not very careful with my hands and broke all of the silver ones. So I went for titanium with rosewood inlay.

Reminds me of the Hot Wheels Limozeen I had as a child.

It's a neat color. We recently swapped all the doorknobs in our house for matte black but some of the new hardware didn't fit the holes in the doors, so my wife had me powdercoat the old hardware matte black. When I realized how easy it was to do I asked if I could do Rainbow's End doorknobs in the basement. It was shot down

Looks like a Gibson Grabber bass I had for while, that bass got modded out seriously.
Last seen in Eastern Europe - stolen.

It's a pretty common phase with my kids, when my oldest was that age she would say "fix amplifiers" and poke everything she could find with a screwdriver. I was a freelance amp tech at the time, so when mommy needed alone time I would say "wanna go fix amplifiers?" and we would hang out in the basement for a couple hours.

My youngest (the aforementioned tube destroyer) seems to be the most into it, 'tube', 'circuit board', and 'pedal' are all things she talks about often.

I have a couple more pedals I'm going to try to get into the in-stock shop in the next couple days, I'll keep everyone posted when I expect to have them ready.

- JC Emerald X (with limited edition [because I didn't enjoy doing it] finish)
- yet another Westinghouse (modified old version with knob sweeping 80V - 235V, full color art)
- Space Heater (full color artwork over chrome, but "b-stock" damaged enclosure)
- Robot Butterfly (full color artwork)

This will likely be the last batch of in-stock stuff I have to offer (until I finally get around to boxing those obnoxious turret-board builds) before August ordering opens up.

So when I was battling with the Westinghouse to get a stable unit, it was suggested that I try to get a similar sound with a more stable tube, like 12AX7. At the time I was thinking about the Space Heater, which is great but has a very different character.

Well in listening to the demos I made with guitar, I realized how beautiful the Sunnday Drive X's clean boost sounds by itself, and I thought to myself "man, that could be a pedal all by itself." So that is likely to be a prototype I get together this month, a 12AX7-based clean boost that can potentially kill off the Westinghouse.

I love the Westinghouse’s “3D” sound and mild harmonic excitement. It’s not overdrive per se, but it’s not perfectly clean either. If you’re able to capture that vibe but with a more stable (less microphonic) tube, that would be great.

FWIW, I’ve been using a 12AU7 in one of my tube preamps (SWR IOD) for years now, in place of a 12AX7, and I love the lower gain and higher audio frequency bandwidth from making that change. Less crunch, and more of a high fidelity tube sound.

That's another thing I've been thinking about, Noble uses a pair of 12AU7 and it works in that, so I should be able to make something similar work. I know people have said a lower gain tube like 5751 in the Space Heater does a nice job of cleaning it up while retaining the warmth. So anyway I'm going to play with some ideas, I'm planning to start with the clean boost stage I put in SDX and add some ideas to it, see what comes out.

Hey Senor - have any more thoughts on adding an eq circuit to the Westinghouse at all ? It kinda sounds like you are thinking of phasing it out entirely . I hope you’ll keep it going but at the minimum let us know if it’s a goner any time soon - thanks Kelly

I haven't decided 100% yet, but I am leaning toward phasing it out. It's a good sounding pedal, I like the tone, but it was still a hastily thrown together project based heavily on the Edison, and I'm considering getting rid of it in favor of a more original design.

I've been sitting on this news for a bit as well, I'm going to be discontinuing Particle Accelerator and London Underground in favor of "Particle Underground", which is everything I like about each of the two combined into one pedal. Right now I offer 17 different models of pedal, which is a lot to keep track of, and I'm looking for ways to slim the number down in favor of things I think are superior products while still keeping options that people like. Some other notes:

Lab Rat X is on the watch list as I have only sold a handful of them and I have to decide if it's worthwhile to keep the design up to date and continue to stock parts when only there is only limited interest.

Robot Butterfly is on the watch list for similar reasons, but also because I'm just not as excited about offering it as I am other things, it doesn't feel like it's "me", if that makes sense.

Echosaurus is starting to become more popular so I'm looking at a design update. It's my favorite delay I've ever used, and the only thing that could make me like it more is if there were tubes in there. So that will be a prototype that happens.

Thanks Senor for the heads up - have to say I feel like the Westinghouse with eq design could have been a winner but you know what you like to build and it’s working well now . Any chance of a Noble style high end pre making it into production ? Please do give us here some time before cancelling anything so those of us waiting on one version or another can act before it’s gone forever .... Thanks Kelly
