The Sushi Box FX Secret Society

I got my Westinghouse back the other day and all is well!
And yours was the last one (I think) that needed to be dealt with, but these were from the March batch, so 3+ months and a nontrivial amount of expenses dealing with something I could have caught if I just spent a little more time in R&D and testing. Lesson learned ;)

I still have yet to send you my OG one from that initial batch...been on the fence about what, if anything, I want to do about it.

There are a couple options now, I can still do the switch, or I can mod the sweep of the pot (more recent mod I figured out) so the minimum voltage is still high enough that there is no squeal from the power supply.

This seems to have worked well on mine. I get no noise now in any position on the knob.

I was wrong, there was still another WH I had forgotten about fixing, so the Great Westinghouse Fiasco continues.

I'm getting better at organization and keeping things going, but if at any point you feel like I may have forgotten something we talked about be it a build, fix, modification, etc. please let me know. I'm a scatterbrained forgetful person so I never feel like I'm being nagged, and I always appreciate reminders.

So I'm finishing up faceplates now for the Underground Accelerator LEs, and I'm really liking how they're turning out. I messed up a couple, so three of them are going to be different species of wood than the rest, but no two look exactly identical anyway so not a big deal. I went with some darker woods which I really like, but I didn't want to go too dark or you wouldn't be able to see the engravings. I'll get some pictures tonight when they're all done.

Edit: looks like I lied, I have three species of wood between the 10 pedals. The 4 I did last night look slightly different than the 3 I just did but similar, and the 3 I have on the laser right now are clearly different. All are beautiful (obviously), just different.

Sooo… what you are saying, is instead of releasing one limited edition pedal as planned, you’ve accidentally released 3x even more limited edition variations of the pedal?

Dig it!

Which wood has the best tone?

Sushi box just came to my attention... I'm really liking what I'm hearing... I've been wanting some tubes back in my signal chain since having to sell my Noble...

Now I read that things are getting discontinued and changing..
It's all good, I get it. Change is necessary..

Still looking forward to getting my paws on one, or three of the beauties

An excellent pairing.

I call it the Blue Light Special.

The things being discontinued are things that don't sell well, or have issues of some sort. Rest assured the stuff sticking around is the good stuff :D
New orders open Friday!

Welcome :) as was mentioned the changes are to get rid of things that had problems or weren't popular, and also to consolidate two very similar pedals into one pedal with the best of both. I try to add a lot more than I take away, but I do need to keep things manageable from a production standpoint as I am a one-man show doing this in my basement as a hobby and need to control how much time I spend on it.

All that being said I'm glad you found out about me, and I hope you get a chance to try a pedal or three :D

Which reminds me, a couple people expressed concern over the August batch selling out super fast as it's only a half batch and some people not getting in, so I'm considering opening September as well. The only difference between the two (besides delivery date obviously) will be that Lab Rat X will not be available in September.

I was formulating this out to be a question of what everyone thought about it, but in typing it out I talked myself into it :P I'll be opening a 20-slot batch for August and a 40-slot batch for September, both opening on Friday.

@Sonicblaze shouldn't need to change anything besides number of slots and Lab Rat availability between the two, I can get it set up tomorrow if you don't get to it first. Sorry for the last minute announcement :P

Try a timmy if you havnt. I'm considering kicking my grizzley off because the timmy does all the things... GAS!!!

I was thinking of getting the MXR Mini version for guitar, if I do I'll try it on bass.

I tell you, the Darkglass Vintage Microtubes into a Particle Accelerator Mini-Tube is a magical combination. Even though the PA is new-ish to me this year, that Darkglass has knocked down many a challenger over the past 3 years or so! It has to be good for me to use it, as it violates my 'top jack only' rule and what I'm really doing is trying to find that sound from a top jack pedal.
