Im looking for some overdrive that would follow a barbershop to take it into a more overdriven direction
No clips, but the SH does OD well enough on it's own.
However, it's flexible enough to run clean, or "just on the edge of breakup", if you intend to use the barbershop to push it harder.

I was considering something like that. In the sound clips linked above I can hear it getting there at 3:00, but the overall character sounds a little round? I had a shiftline olympic before and really like the natural hefty breakup the 12AX7 tube added as the gain was turned up. I know these are different circuits, but Im trying to just get a solid idea if its more drivey or vintagey warm. Thanks for yalls help!
I'd say it depends on your bass, and playing.
To my ear, on the clean side,
There a certain tightening of the bottom, as if the deep lows/boom are rolled off.
The mids sound nice and rich, without being too thick.
The highs are fuller, and rounded without sounding muted.
The drive character is about as natural as you can get. Not modern, unless that's the signal I'm feeding it.
I believe the sound clips were recorded direct, so the drive and tonal characteristics will change when run through a proper amplifier.

but I think I understand what you're saying with the character. I guess, after talking about it a bit, I want to make sure the breakup has a little edge/cut to it, if that makes sense?

Considering it's the cheapest of the SB offerings, it's a bit of a no-brainer to me.
And if you don't get along with it, you should be able to flip it fairly quickly in the classifieds.

Thoughts? Obviously I'll have to see how it prints, but I'm excited with the artwork. Commissioned the bassist for my new band who is also apparently a cartoonist.
@Sushi Box FX that is a bold visual departure but I like it as an option, will the artist be offering artwork for the full line, selected pedals or just new offerings? Perhaps Limited Editions might be in order?
For now it's just for Fluffy Kitten, which I plan on being a limited run and not a permanent offering. But I expect to find some other work for him in the future, be it limited run or long term. His art isn't limited to obnoxious cheesy cartoons like this, but looking at some of his previous work I knew he would be the perfect choice for what I had in mind for Fluffy Kitten. Him being an excellent bassist is just an added bonus.
The artist I had previously been working with to do Underground Accelerator and redesign the whole line ended up not working out. So I'm keeping his Underground Accelerator artwork (probably), but I won't be using him for anything else.
I need this no matter what it does.

It’s lovely. My only feedback is that the cupcakes feel out of place. Kittens and cupcakes? Not in my experience.
Recording setup for now the PA and Submarine Designer (Ictineo rehouse by @johnk_10 ) sound so superb paired.
Little throw down board for piccolo bass for a blues jam and for my recording sessions this week on baritone and piccolo bass. The UA into the Ictineo is brilliant.
