im due to get my bass dr wattson this week and intend to make a youtube video demoing the pedal. id love to finish it by this weekend, depending on when the pedal arrives.

This one thankfully does not have the noise that the other does so easy to distinguish between the two.

I'm terrible at describing sound :P but I would say Sunnday Drive is a little heavier overall and generally darker, Dr. Wattson I think has a punchier sound, whereas Sunnday Drive is rounder I guess? I always repurpose adjectives that weren't meant for sound and use them to explain tone :P

You don't/shouldn't need to describe them...you recorded incredible sound samples for each (thank you again). We should be using our own ears to decide what we like/dislike.

That's definitely more reliable than having me try to form coherent sentences. Describing a sound feels like I'm at a wine tasting.

"It has a subtle peachy flavor with mild pear after tones, and just a hint of cherry."

That's my description of Particle Accelerator, in case you were wondering.

That's weird... I get a note of pepper with a nice oaky, smoky finish.

My apologies. For me, samples are helpful to a certain extent, but don't really help me know how they will react with my instrument and my hands unless it's something like a B3K that makes everything sound the same. And there are certainly more sounds available than what have been recorded and posted for us to listen to, not to mention all of the intricacies and subtleties that perhaps don't come through Soundcloud.

I agree, samples don't always tell the full story of the sound. Obviously anyone close enough to me is welcome to swing by and try out anything before making a choice, but that's obviously not an option for everyone.

No worries, I figured you had already heard the recordings and just wanted more info. And not to toot my own horn, but I am kind of an expert on these pedals, I have yet to find someone more familiar with them.

There are sooo many adjectives describing sound these days, which in the end are all relative to the perspective of the listener is really whatever. Since I've gotten back in the "forums" aspect of playing bass the past couple years, honestly 3D and Resonant have described nice clean tube sound for me, and I don't even know how to describe all the different kinds of breakup/dirt/grit/OD/Drive ect., just really ask that's its very linear

Tech is getting to the point that we will be able to sample, to an extent, new pedals, amps, cabinets with impulse responses on a PC/IR loader. Not the most ideal and accurate idea, but entertaining, and you would be able to apply it to your rig. Of course the variables can only go so far in each direction, but like I say just an idea before you throw down your hard earned money, and/or can't try out in a store because some dmn virus..

Describing compressors has got to be the hardest to describe. Props to Scuba, his thread and website.
