Dude your from Austin the home of Tofu & Vegan Chili at Mother's, chill out. Even Texas Chili Parlor does a Five Bean Chili.

Texas Chili Parlor

I love me some Chili Cheese Mac with beans or Chili with beans on a baked potato.
In Cincinnati they serve chili over spaghetti ...
My eastern European grandma served it over rice.
Chili on a baked potato rules!

Also I should clarify sonething about the Smoke Signal, it isn't one tube per channel, there isn't a clean channel tube and a dirty channel tube. The dirty channel uses both tubes, all 4 available gain stages, whereas the clean channel only uses two gainstages. So the clean channel is only using one tube, but if you pick a tube specifically for the clean channel, it's affecting the dirty channel too.

I wonder about the 2 speaker cab simulation filter settings of the Smoke Signal preamp.

Are they analog, and if so, is it basically just a combination of a HPF and a LPF, and if so what are the cut off frequencies and slope approximately respectively for the 2 settings, if not then how does the EQ curve roughly look for the two cab filter settings?

I am asking because I could potentially be interested in getting the Smoke Signal preamp some time in the future for my "amp-less" setup.

The filter settings/cab sim is only applied to the Record Out. The Record out mutes the signal in bypass, only the Out Jack is true bypass. So if you want to use the Record Out Jack live, you can only switch between the two channels, engaging the bypass switch will mute the signal. I know I didn’t address your question but this feature was not obvious to me, and based on your stated intent, I thought you might find it interesting.

I questioned @Sushi Box FX about that as well and actually like the "mute" functionality for iem use.

What is this world coming to ? Texans calling tofu and mushroom chili acceptable ? Vegetarian chili ? Chili on baked potato as if it 's merely a side dish ? Have we no standards here ! What's next - Canadians claiming Iowa bacon is the gold standard for true bacon lovers ? Where does this madness end ??? ...Kelly

LOL. Tofu & vegetarian chili is cultural appropriation! Delicious discussion viewed from here in France.

The speaker emulation filters are analog, I'll take a look at them today to find cutoff frequencies etc.

This is correct, the original Meatsmoke recording output is the same way, but I've had a couple people ask about it so I'll get into the website and add a note about it. I understand the appeal of having the recording output active when the pedal is bypassed, but that would require a different kind of switch (4PDT instead of 3PDT) and thus a redesign. I'll consider it for the future.

Thank you.

And yes, my intend was to use the record out live, though since it would then pretty much be an always on pedal it would be irrelevant to me weather or not the signal is muted when the pedal is switched to bypass, in fact it might even be desirable to me to have an extra mute switch at the last unit in my signal chain before the poweramp.

When a Texas boy has a vegan girlfriend one must adapt, what else you gonna do with leftover chili as it must be eaten to the very last wonderful tasty morsel.
:D

Again I say Vegan girlfriend, certainly a Frenchman must understand that, after all the curious things y'all get up to eating tofu and mushrooms ain't all that questionable.
Agreed. This chili discourse is so enjoyable that I made a thread for it over in the Off Topic forum. Feel free to join :smug:
Oh no I don't play well over there at all. :eyebrow:

This is the kind of thing that happens when you don't write an owners manual. Yes some of us nerds and geeks actually do read them. Admittedly I used to have a hand in writing some and was also in sales for a long time and kinda thrive on such minutia.

Yeah, for the longest time I only had a mute in the front of my chain (tuner) but I have since moved it to the back. The bigger the board, the more artifacts/noise that do not get muted.

That's about all the motivation I need to want to go back to Austin. We were there for ACL a few years ago now and really loved everything about the city.
Austin was always my sorta second/third musical & spiritual home growing up, Temple is literally just up 35, so it was a no brainer that after my world travels that this would be home.
