And that's it, all handwired Space Heaters are paid for. I'll finish them up and get them shipped sometime next week. I doubt I'll get any work done today as today is also my daughter's birthday, but I may get some work done tomorrow.

Also I just got a notification that updated Gondwana boards are out for delivery, so that's neat. Good thing I have all of next week off work :)

I've spent carelessly my whole life. Then I met my wife who would give Scrooge a run for his money and I learned I could get better stuff if I stopped buying cheap/mid range stuff "because it's too good a deal to pass up" or "it's just as good as ______ at half the price"

It pulls a little bit more, the extra voltage has to come from somewhere, so if the input supply voltage isn't changing then the input supply current has to go up. I'll take some measurements before I ship and let everyone know what they pull.

Also DHL just dropped these off. Left to right: Gondwana phase III mk ii, handwired Finally, handwired Slampegg, and handwired UA. I wasn't expecting them this early, I'll need to order parts to get them put together and tested.

That's the best part though, there doesn't need to be a lottery. There are no turrets on these and I won't do wood faceplates, so these will become just another option for standard builds.

All assuming these designs work, I decide the amount of time is worth it, and @Sonicblaze helps me find a good way to put them on the website, naturally.

Sounds like a variation of the east Indian saying - " buy high - cry once , Buy low - cry forever " and more power to you for having the sense to " marry up " ! ... Kelly

Good afternoon and a happy holidays to all.
Lately I've kinda been gassing for a little tube warmth. Not looking for tube amp (more $ than I want to spend right now) and not so much into the distortion thing, but just some good ole tube warmth to put in front of my amp. So Sushi connoisseurs, what Sushi Box do I need for this task.

French variation: my mother often says "I'm not rich enough to buy cheap things". Off course she's not talking about music gear, but it's the same principle…

@Sushi Box FX offers several choices to feed that need depending on your preferences.

Underground Accelerator is a great choice for general bass and guitar work having a familiar pleasing Fender sound that is ubiquitous, there is a wide range of gain for saturation with a very useful tone stack. This is my recommendation.

Slampeg Bee may be more to your liking if you are looking for the classic Motown or 60s thru today's warm rich Alley combo tones. Great for bass but also works for guitar.

SBVT is a take on the classic big tube bass amp used by so many bass players over the years, big sound.

Dr Wattson, JC Emerald and Sunnday Drive offer more specific familiar amp tones.

Space Heater is the gain section of the UA without the tone stack if that is your preference.
Finally is the tube gain section from the SH with a DI transformer.

Sushi-San, what are these turrets you speak of? I seem to be the only one who doesn’t know what they are… embarrassing but thought I’d ask anyway….
Is there a chance I could upgrade a January order for UA or Slampegg to the HW/non-turret spec?
