I'm keeping my eyes on the firebox development that is the one piece of gear I feel bass and guitar pedal rigs both have lacked for a long time is that warmth of tube power amp saturation hopefully you can find a transformer to pair with it that sounds huge but is still pedal friendly

I 100% agree with this, it's the one thing missing that's preventing me from dropping an valve head from my rig.

Power valve saturation is an inetgral part of my tone (the most important infact) but it would great not to have to lug an all valve head around. My PF50T isn't paticulary heavy but it awkward.

I've done alot as work arounds for this on my pedal board and it's atleast 90% there if not more but that extra 10% would put it over the top. I'm currently running a Jt Amps Alpha tube di at my output stage and have it paired with a two notes cab m+ using the kt88 simulation then I have a line 6 hx fx as my brain of the board running noise gates, routing, eq, and fx with a mesa di+ as the main tone/preamp in the effects loop and I have the front end pushed by a sushi box deep dish tube compressor using it as additional tube preamp in front of the mesa di. It is a pretty complex setup but it sounds the business and weighs considerably less then my old rack based tube rigs. I think potentially adding the firebox I could possibly free up the alpa di and two notes from the board I'd have to see if keeping any of it adds more to the sound first tho.

The transformer will likely be the tricky bit. In the initial design I'm using a Hammond transformer that is common in low-wattage DIY guitar amps, but I'm concerned that the frequency response won't be giving me what I need for a good bass sound, and if it doesn't sound good with bass, what's the point in doing it?

I'm juggling a dozen R&D projects right now so my budget (both money and time) is spread thin as it is, so some have taken a backseat for the time being (Furthermore, Gondwana, Greenhouse to name a few), but when I have more time and money to throw at Firebox I may have to look deeper into transformers. Fortunately I know a guy.

Still getting to know my MORE pedal, but I like it. With it engaged, everything I mix in with it seems richer. In particular, I'm enjoying how it seems to erase the sterility from my digital devices (i.e., future impact and fwonkbeta) in that they sound wetter/danker/stankier.

I can’t imagine a world where anything can make a Fwonkbeta any Danker or Stankier than it already is.

Is there a set day you open ordering up again? I have a calendar reminder to check around the 17th for November ordering but I was just wondering if you knew when you'd open it up.

I don't have a set date, but I usually aim for around the middle of the month, depending on what I need to get together. I'm planning to make HW Elementary available in November, I expect to finish testing on that tomorrow. I'm also hoping to have The Detective ready to go for November, that's undergoing testing now and should also hopefully wrap up this week.

So to summarize, I'm aiming for the 15th, but we'll see how things go.

I have a Dr. Wattson and love the way it sounds, but also like to drive into it with a light gain pedal, the tube really brings out the character of the harmonics and get really good presence for standing out. A Plumes sounds great into it but also have a Fuzzrocious Lil Fella that sounds great too.

What drives do people like to stack with their SushiBox?

Those Spark 4 knobs are pretty versatile, lots of different sounds out of those guys.

Correct. @casual_platypus has the prototype right now and is putting it through its paces before I can call it ready to release.

Just closed October ordering, but there are still a handful of in-stock Space Heaters available. I also just added an in-stock Lab Rat if anyone was looking to try one of those. I built this one into the proof enclosure I got from the supplier I'm hoping to use for all SMD enclosures going forward, I like how it turned out.

JPTR Jive and Origin Effects Halcyon are my favourites for giving some extra light gain, although the Lil Fella is up there too as a great one.
