I'm not so sure I deserve it, any time I get a break from building pedals I spend it building pedals
With the back plate off, facing the board,
Will the first tube be the one on the left?
Yup, that's how I do things 99% of the time. Looking at the circuit board with the back plate off, V1 is on the left.

I received my Dr. Wattson mini tube in Violet Sparkle yesterday, with barely any time to check it out. I compared it with my Hand Wired version.
In the short time I spent with it, there was some odd behavior. It was cold when I received it, and I don't think I let it acclimate sufficiently, and I only ran it for a minute or two at a time, between swapping power supplies, and my limited time. Tonight I spent some real time with it, and it seems to take about 4-5 minutes to fully warm up. After a proper warm up, all the same little quirks from the night before, settled down and disappeared. Played for about an hour, nice low noise floor, the clean tones are very Mid emphasized, compared to the Hand Wired, and it has this incredibly burpy, almost flatulant overdrive. And I mean that in a good way. Like a rapid fire, highly percussive, High pitched, dry kind of fart.
I find there to be significant differences in the overall tone, EQ, and overdrive/distortion character, between the Mini tube, and the Hand Wired Dr. Wattson. One does not replace the other, they can fill different uses. The Hand wired EQ sounds totally different, with a much lower extension, and overall bassier response. The Mini sounds very Mid focused, and thin by comparison. The Mini has significantly hotter overall output, and more distortion/gain available. Whereas I have been using the Hand wired as a mostly clean, always on, end of chain device, the Mini will start it's life with me as an on-demand distortion. It gives this really tight, concise, very neat, highly abrasive grind, that totally captures my fancy.
Hand wired draws 560-570ma, Mini draws 830-840ma.
First impression is that the Dr. Wattson has only improved with revisions. The Hand wired is one of my top 10 preamps.

Which reminds me, @Sushi Box FX , Traynor YBA-1A preamp, in a Sushibox pedal. I suspect it’s not very complex, but the Dual input, of different voicings, that could be jumpered, would be imperative. Properly implemented, (as if there were any other way) this could be THE GREATEST!

Just started using an UA and is it just my mind playing tricks on me or do these give more tube compression? I like it either way- thing really has perfect subtle character at 0-10-0.
