I do have a question for senior @Sushi Box FX - how easy\possible is it to do a Slampegg and incorporate a tonestack defeat as you did with the UA?

It would be trivial to implement, the hardest part would be finding a spot to put the physical switch. It would be a little different than a Space Heater or a TS-bypassed UA due to how Ampeg designed the gainstages. They didn't bypass the cathodes in either stage so it's less gain than typical fender designs, but they also have way bigger plate resistors, so it still has enough gain to overdrive. Would be interesting to hear for sure.I do have a question for senior @Sushi Box FX - how easy\possible is it to do a Slampegg and incorporate a tonestack defeat as you did with the UA?
Right on! My band played at Piazza with Weeze, @Gearhead17 plays bass with them. It was an excellent show. Hope yours went well also. Also if anyone in the Chicago area is bored tonight, my band is playing the Montrose Saloon at 8pm
Oh awesome! I used to play drums for Pea, the singer for Weeze, in another project. Fabulous musician and super cool guy.Right on! My band played at Piazza with Weeze, @Gearhead17 plays bass with them. It was an excellent show. Hope yours went well also.

Just added a couple more pedals to the garage sale: HWUA, Glass Butterfly, and Dreamcatcher.

Ah, pretty sure I know what I did wrong. Give me a minute.Trying to buy the Glass Butterfly and I’m getting a message at checkout saying you’ve never shipped to my country before….
Mmkay, should be good to go now.Trying to buy the Glass Butterfly and I’m getting a message at checkout saying you’ve never shipped to my country before….
Just yoinked the Dreamcatcher! Been eyeing this for a while now!
@_Tay_ I have a Finally ( same gain stage as SH ) and a MORE and will say they both have a similar function as far as gain go but MORE has a richness and complexity that the simpler circuit does not have. You will probably dig the added je ne sais quois of the MORE.

I haven’t tried a HW Sushi yet, I bought all mine before the option was made available for that particular unit. I play out and don’t think it would make a difference in a live mix. Recording on the other hand might be noticeable, but that is just speculation on my part.I know the HW / SMD comparison has been beaten to death… but.. general consensus is the HW sounds “bigger”- comparing the UA SMD with a HW SH, I’m not hearing it fellas. Anyone want to elaborate?
I guess I’m trying to say is it like saying you have a MIA bass as opposed to a MIJ when tone wise they are the same but the MIA is a luxury.
I only use live as well, so I’m going by the sound into a Mesa 800+ and 8x10… I also use iem’s ue7 with dual subs, still, no difference… both sound the same.I haven’t tried a HW Sushi yet, I bought all mine before the option was made available for that particular unit.
