The Finally DI is always on with the tube preamp feeding the sweet LBA transformer, it ranges from tube clean to crunchy so it can enhance your given sound. The 1/4 output can be pass through or driven by the tube preamp. It does indeed impart a warm tube kiss to any amp.



IMHO all those pedals are better running at the end or near end of your signal chain, running them first robs you of the true benefits. Were I forced to suggest a front of chain drive it would be the Finally as it is based on the Space Heater.

The UA and all the other preamps I have tried sound great on guitar even the Slampegg Bee gets a really nice jazz guitar tone. Even the guitar oriented JC Emerald is rockin' on bass.

MORE is best when you already have a great sounding bass or signal chain you love and want to take it to the next level higher.

Hi fellow SB FXers! Excited to be using a new compact powerbank/Cioks4 -powered setup doing a run of gigs with an Irish band for Paddy's Day. Insane power from boosting the level of MORE! a little more hehe

Thinking to order some more Sushi goodness.

Two quick question re. those of you lucky enough to have UA and Slampegg.

1. How are the differences between the two?
2. Are the Bass and Treble controls on the Slampegg both boost AND cut?

(I was reading around that UA is kinda like the Orange ad200b...so Bass and treble would be only boost, right?)

Hey everyone, sorry I disappear from time to time, got a lot of boring stuff going on that you don't want to hear about (not the least being taxes), and I fell behind on here, answering emails, and getting repairs turned around. I have the day off work tomorrow so I'm going to make tonight a long night and see how caught up I can get.

How might you rank for versatility as a first-in-chain pedal on a compact pedalboard for electric bass and guitar...

I agree with what was said before, as far as first-in-chain versatility goes for guitar, Underground Accelerator takes the cake. Finally is a great tool and can get some great tones, but it was really designed to go near the end (or at the very end) of the chain.

More is a neat thing to have, but I'm not sure beginning of chain is the best place for it, especially on guitar. I will say that the guitarist in my band had been asking me for a clean boost recently, so I gave him a More. He uses the gain channel on his amp for dirt, he just wanted a nice boost to push it a little harder for solos. I brought More to practice on Tuesday and let him try it out, and his exact words were "I want to have sex with this pedal." So More by itself is good, but I think it really shines when stacked with other gear, either before a dirt pedal for more gain, or after a dirt pedal to allow the other pedal to push More's tubes a bit.

UA and Slampegg are very different creatures. For starters, UA is lower gain higher output, Slampegg is higher gain, lower output. UA has a Fender/Marshall/Vox/Orange tonestack, which measn bass and treble are boost only, mids are cut only. Slampegg uses a James (baxandall) tonestack, which allows boost/cut for both controls.

Also....Slampegg (similar to B15, NOT SVT) is darker sounding overall than UA.
I love the UA so much that I now have 2, but I never bonded with Slampegg and flipped it. YMMV.

Put together this little utility board about a week ago that fits inside my Mono Tick bag. I don’t have many gigs coming up where I’ll need any effects, but this thing will be a great Swiss Army knife moving forward.

Plugged it into my interface last night, immediate squealing and weird noises. Pulled the cable from the tuner and went directly in to Finally, sounded great. Likewise no noise into the tuner and directly out to the interface.

I did eventually figure it out and was just completely in love with the sound I was getting with my 76 P with flats through this thing. Ended up playing for a couple of hours, which is rare for me.

Anyone want to take a guess as to what I needed to do to get rid of the noise? Wasn’t a cable issue…

Doesn’t the Strobostomp have a buffer mode that can be activated or off? Was that active?

You may be right, and thanks for the help....but I was already in a situation where I needed another pedal like an Inuit needs an icicle.....then I clicked on a Dreamcatcher and couldn't resist a locally made Gup Bass Bone on Reverb .....so I am, as they say in Latin...."all good" ...

For starters my main pre for the past few years has been the Shift Line Olympic, I love it; a desert island piece that I'll never sell. This year I recently joined a new band and needed something that could get a similar/better sound with a smaller footprint. My Olympic lives on a pretty big board with a ton of stuff; and I was looking to go back to basics, tuner>compressor>preamp>DI/cab sim/IR> done. I've spent the last two months trying to figure out something that'd come close to the Olympic, and tried a bit of everything. Lightning boy Audio Tube DI, Darkglass Vintage Deluxe, the Darkglass Element with Vintage Microtubes and Alpha Omicron etc.. etc.. and all of them have been returned, sold or are being sold. I finally took the plunge and grabbed this Underground Accelerator off of Reverb (a story within itself. let's just say the seller initially sent me a King Nothing by mistake). I plugged it in, played it a bit against the Olympic, against the Darkglass Drives and even through the Element and I found the best sound I was getting with with just this pedal and a JDI. I'd argue with my Serek it sounds better than the Shift Line Olympic, especially without the IR's. SO all in all I'm very thankful that this pedal exists, had my first band rehearsal with it last night coming after a Walrus Mira into the JDI and listening back to the rehearsal last night it just sits in the mix perfectly. Next up may be a Finally, and maybe an Effectrode PC-2a to just round out the tube pedalboard.

Like you, I am down to the basics. Tuner, UA, SV pre, compressor, IR, HPF, and finally. This is my IEM board that functions as an end all tone monster. Get the finally, you won’t be disappointed.

I don't need the Underground Accelerator.. I am extremely happy with my current bass tone.. But seeing post's like this really spark my curiosity! So many speak highly of the Underground Accelerator and it really makes me wonder if i sould get one!

I’m also super curious about the 6SL7 Slampegg

I got the prototype boxed up to play with more, and I love it. It does everything the current Slampegg does but better. It doesn't drive as hard since 6SL7 has a lower amplification factor than 12AX7, but obviously this is the way B-15N was designed, and it's glorious. Delightfully warm and punchy.

Interestingly enough I also have a Super Bassman that I honestly rarely play out anymore. Glad to know the Finally works well with the Underground Accelerator, and the Lightning Boy Transformer is certainly a selling point for me too as the NuVision DI did sound great, was missing the EQ options that the Underground Accelerator offered

I'd say if you're looking for a little more flexibility and excitement in your sound I can't imagine there's much else that does what this does at the price point

Yep, the UA and finally are a good pair.

Same for me with the SB, I haven’t gigged it in a while, it’s just so easy to bring my board and bass to the gig and be in or out in 5 minutes. However nothing sounds like a 300 watt all tube amp.
