Sounds great! In all seriousness, would you be okay with me posting a link to that video on the website? I've had a couple comments recently that there aren't any demos for UA around, and would love to be able to point people to this.

Also in case anyone was wondering, UA is currently available for backorder, but I have 3 builds nearly complete on the workbench that will be finished up this weekend. One is already taken by a backorder, but the other two will be available.

I'd say if you're looking for a little more flexibility and excitement in your sound I can't imagine there's much else that does what this does at the price point

Problem is my whole board is full of secret sauce pedals. Is There room for another?? Probably haha

What kind of Rush pedal is that?

I got the prototype boxed up to play with more, and I love it. It does everything the current Slampegg does but better. It doesn't drive as hard since 6SL7 has a lower amplification factor than 12AX7, but obviously this is the way B-15N was designed, and it's glorious. Delightfully warm and punchy.

I'm looking forward to trying out some of my spare Jule Monique tubes out.

What kind of Rush pedal is that?

It's a custom-build overdrive pedal. The Rush motif was just my design choice, it's not an "official" piece of kit or anything like that from the band. The pedal is just a MXR Zakk Wylde OD, but rehoused in a new enclosure with a separate clean/dry volume knob added to the circuit.

Great video, that really displays the UA’s capabilities. I have a Space Heater, which I use mainly as a boost/drive in front of my PF50T, but it could easily be used as a stand alone pre in front of a power section.

Space Heater set for mild OD ahead of the PF50-T is nice! I think for me the UA with Tone Stack bypass is Nathan's best box so far... Hoping that VenusX will update my opinion!

I’ve probably had about 50+ gigs going IEM to front of house with my finally and have had zero complaints.

It’s a stunning combination, the SH into an ampeg classic pre into my baby sumo it gorgeous as well.

there is bit more bottom end with the classic.

If I just run one into the other and switch them on or off, is that a fair enough comparison? Or does one in bypass change the sound of the next one downstream? I am, how you say, “pedal-dumb”.

IMO That would be apples and oranges. The UA and Slampegg have very different tone stacks and the UA is hotter. They are both flavors of damn, this is good!

They're true bypass, so when one is off, it should not audibly influence the other .

I used to use a Mesa WD800....but after bonding with the U-Accelerator, I moved to much smaller/simpler SS heads and use my pedals for tone polishing. I need to have eq on the head (esp. for mids, since the passive tone stacks on currently offered SB pedals make it impossible to boost mids without another eq). I have a Quilter BB802, a Genzler Magellan 350 and a Jay Ganz straight ahead 500 watt power amp. The heads give me much more powerful eq than the pedals, aux-in, DI, and they sound fine on their own. The Jay Ganz power amp is a backup.

. I was recently in a recording studio with one of my bands. The engineer had an RNDI for me to use, my pedal board has a Finally at the end. I asked him if he wanted me to bypass it and he suggested we sound check with the Finally going into the RNDI. He loved the sound!

...sittin' here in limbo.....plannin'/schemin' re board reorganization.....realizing how many Sushi Boxes I have (even though I parted with 2).....and fantasizing about a Sushi Box FX points reward program .......then accepting that what I need is a 12-step program

On a more concrete note, I finally got around to sub'ing an old Raytheon 12AT7 into my D-Catcher's red channel. As is oft the case with empirical experiments, it yielded a happy and beneficial but unanticipated result. I was hoping the AT7 would provide another delicious flavour of kleeeeen (I already love my almost clean, "go to" sound that comes from the UA blue channel #1). Normally I tend to avoid heavily overdriven sounds.....but the OD the Raytheon is spewing at moderate gain is so creamy and the low end so well-preserved that it's a dirty keeper.
