With the single tube pedals I would add a glass butterfly or more, but a compressor could work too. I love the tone I get with my UA into the GB.

Glass Butterfly and More only have one gainstage each. UA and Elemntary both have 2 and have much hotter outputs than either. Slampegg is the lowest output of any of the singles just due to how the circuit was designed. The main advantage More has in driving something like a power amp is the low-impedance output buffer that makes it more friendly to amps with a less sensitive input. More with a 12AX7 in the gain section makes an excellent power amp driver.

Welp! Turns out the power connector in my PA got shaken up in the pedalboard fall, and now it won't really hold a plug. It did get thru a gig last weekend, but with a bit of tape holding things in place.

I have to ship my Peterson Strobostomp off too, so this has turned into a real drag.

I suppose since my Slampegg is off-board for now due to some issues, it may be a good juncture to pack things up and see if I can steal a little of Señor Sushi's ample free time?

It is truly no problem at all; you're a one-man show, with a ton of hats that require wearing nearly all the time. Heavy is the head that wears the crown

A fair question. Finally has as much output as a UA with the tonestack bypassed (which is A LOT) so I guess it technically wins (or maybe ties with UA when tonestack is bypassed) for single tube output level.

There is no advantage or sound difference due to the design of these pedals.

Generally it should be less than 30 seconds, multi tube pedals or several SB pedals in a chain may take a bit longer.

I have several SB pedals on my recording board on a daisy chain, even all those are warmed up in less than 60 seconds.

My Finally warms up very soon but the volume continues to increase for 15 minutes or so. You're doing the right thing.

Just to give everyone a Venus update and not keep anyone in the dark...

We are currently working on Version 3.2 to adjust a couple of the bands and how they work on the active circuit. This in turn can effect the gain stages and Nathan are I discussing and addressing it.

yup. It's always been this way. The final volume increase is probably 15% or so. Noticeable. Come to think of it, my mini-tube Slampegg doesn't do this.

I'm no electrical engineer, nor do I play one on TV....and I haven't stayed at a Holiday Inn for at least a decade, but I suggest you try a different tube in your Finally and see whether that solves the delayed volume increase. Perhaps the Sushi Master will chime in.

Joining the club, just placed an order for an Elementary. This will be my first taste from the Sushi Chef.

My signal chain currently is: Adam Nitti anb205 (jazz style bass)->tuner->broughon HPF/LPF->Empress compressor->Corona (chorus)->Tone Hammer DI->FoH

What power supply are you using? It definitely should not take 15 minutes to stabilize.

Mmkay, time for Venus X news.

So every time a circuit board is redesigned it gets a new version number, and when a component-level change is made to a revision, it gets a decimal revision. Last night I finalized v3.2 of the Venus X preamp, and it's excellent. It is unlike anything else I currently offer and delivers a delicious blend of tube warmth with a modern punch that makes it incredibly versatile. In order to make sure I have time to work through everything before NAMM, I've preemptively ordered the 4.0 circuit boards. Pending the okay from @TonyP- I expect this to be the final version.

I had some enclosures made by the same place that makes the current production sushi enclosures, but I had misplaced a couple labels and they got cut off by the tube vent slots, so I revised last night ands re-ordered. I'm at work right now but I'll try to remember to grab some pictures of the enclosures I got, I love how the colors pop compared to how they printed on my machine.

If all goes well I expect to have a final version of the complete Venus X built up in about 2 weeks.
